My mouth was watering when I opened my box of fine Fannie May Chocolate Covered Strawberries. I received their “favorites” collection which included 4 Pixie berries (carmel infused milk chocolate covered with crunchy pecans), 4 Trinidad berries (covered in creamy milk chocolate and toasted coconut), and 4 Mint Meltaway berries (covered in luxuriously creamy, mint infused white and milk chocolate). Mint Meltaways were divine and definitely my favorite! The mint flavored white/milk chocolate was a lovely companion to the juicy red strawberry hidden underneath. As usual for a covered strawberry, the hard chocolate shell breaks apart when you bite in, so be prepared to catch the pieces because you’ll want to savor each niblet! I also loved the Trinidad. I’m not usually a huge fan of coconut, but this version was not overwhelming and reminded me of a favorite girl scout cookie. Fannie May berries hit the spot. Each strawberry was plump and ripe obviously chosen by Fannie May for their quality.I also want to mention the packaging my berries arrived in. Sometimes it can be disappointing to purchase food items only to find they are crushed when you open the box. Well fears be settled because my Fannie May berries were very well packaged. Styrofoam cushioned the interior shipping box and created a nice resting spot for the decorative box my strawberries were housed in. Inside the decorative box was another layer of protection which came from the soft padding on the lid. A cold pack was also placed in the shipping box to maintain the right temperature and stop the chocolate from becoming compromised. Other than a little strawberry juice soaking through the liner that sat on top of them, my berries arrived in optimal condition.
