Here Fishy Fishy {Gorton’s Seafood and Ortega Giveaway}

One of my favorite things to do is cook.  Unfortunately I am not yet the cook I want to be…you know, the kind that goes, “Hum…needs a bit more  One day I hope to be the grandma that is a pro in the kitchen.  I want to hand down recipes and teach my posterity how to be domestic.With this goal in mind, I LOVE learning about new food companies and new recipe ideas.  This is why I was so excited to review both Gorton’s Seafood and Ortega…two companies I have never heard of before. I was sent two coupons for Ortega and two for Gorton’s Seafood.  I got to pick out any two products I wanted to try of each.

When I went to the store I couldn’t believe I had never heard of either of these products.  They both had such a variety of products….how could I have missed them in past shopping trips!?

In the frozen seafood section Gorton’s was stocked up with:

  • Fish Sticks
  • Breaded Fillets
  • Battered Fillets
  • Grilled Fillets
  • Salmon
  • Tilapia

For a seafood lover, like myself, the choice was difficult but I went with the fish sticks and the tilapia signature grilled fillets.  It was a hard decision for sure.

On the Mexican foods isle Ortega had a section full off:

  • Dinner Kits
  • Tortillas
  • Seasonings
  • Peppers
  • Beans

I decided to go with two dinner kits…one taco kit and one whole grain corn taco kit.  Another hard decision, especially on an empty stomach. was able to make 5 meals with these products.One night we had taco night….beef for my husband who can’t handle the texture of fish and fish for me.  I used the taco kit which included beef seasoning, taco sauce, and shells.  All I had to do was add in the lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes and a delicious dinner was served.  2 meals in 1.Another night I made chicken tacos. This time I used the whole grain corn shells.  They were super tasty!  Again the kit included seasoning, taco sauce, and shells.  Praises were given from the hubby.On two separate occasions my hubby was at work late.  I made fish sticks one night and tilapia the other night.  My compliments to the chef   I must say I impressed myself!Never again will I let someone go 26 years without hearing about either of these companies.  They make very tasty products, are affordable, and have a variety to  choose from.Recently Gorton’s and Ortega have teamed up to promote We ♥ Fish Tacos!  They are also giving you the chance to win a trip to Mexico in the Fish Taco Fiesta Challenge!  The contest has been extended to November, so you have plenty of time to enter.
