Heaven Is Here An Incredible Story Of Hope Triumph And Everyday Joy

Stephanie Nielson is an inspiration to so many. I stumbled upon her blog, The Nie Nie Dialogues a few years back when I kept seeing little ‘Nie Nie badges’ on the sidebars of many of my favorite blogs. I would click on them and they would take me to her pretty fantastic personal blog. Her story. At this time, she had just been in a terrible plane crash with her husband and they were both in the process of recovery. I sat that first night and discovered her jewel of a blog and read back through so many posts, unable to imagine all that she and her family were going through. What struck me most about Mrs. Neilson was her joy for life in her blog posts. She wrote about her daily life with her children, her family, and her faith. I spent and still spend many nights praying for Stephanie and her family as she is continuing to recover. One thingI know, is she is an amazing mother that lives for her children and husband and the Lord. When I saw she had written a book, Heaven is Here: An Incredible Story of Hope, Triumph, and Everyday Joy, I knew I needed to read it!

Based on her immensely popular blog, Stephanie Nielson’s inspiring memoir explores how, in the wake of a near fatal plane crash, she comes to embrace, more than ever before, the power of love, motherhood, community, faith, and the simple joys of everyday life. Heaven is Here is a poignant and inspirational memoir that chronicles Stephanie Nielson’s love affair with her husband, Christian, her fulfilling motherhood with her four young children, and her Mormon faith and close-knit community—the components of a very happy life Stephanie began blogging about in. However, their lives changed forever when Stephanie and Christian were in a horrific plane crash in 2008—he was burned over 40 percent of his body; she over 80 percent and wasn’t expected to live—and they needed the strength of their family and friends, their faith and their love for one another, more than ever.

In the aftermath of harrowing tragedy Stephanie has maintained a stunning sense of humor, optimism, and resilience—a strength of spirit that infuses her very popular blog. Riveting and uplifting, Heaven is Here offers a gripping account of the crash and the aftermath. With her trademark wit and good cheer, Stephanie will share the wisdom and insights she’s gleaned in the wake of her near-death experience and offer readers inspiration for how they too can find the best in themselves and embrace the joy and beauty of the journey, no matter what life throws at them. In the vein of The Middle Place and Saving Graces, Stephanie’s book will be a moving and poignant reminder of how faith and family, love and community can bolster us, sustain us, and quite literally in some cases, save us.

Heaven Is Here: An incredible story of hope, triumph, and everyday joy is a must read. This book tells Stephanie and Christian Nielson’s {Nie Nie} story, starting all the way back in their teen years. She shares their love story from the very beginning and details about their family life together. She writes of the horrific plane crash they were in and her recovery process. Physical and mental. Stephanie’s story is one of strength, faith, and family. Throughout this book all I kept thinking about was how every day is a gift. To live in each day present and happy. Stephanie shares many of the struggles she faced immediately after the accident and challenges she still faces today. Through her beautifully written book I feel like she has given anyone that reads it’s pages a gift. She shows how strong the human spirit can be and how amazing life is.
