Getting Fit One Bit At A Time Fitbit One Review

Source

I am going to let you in on a little secret.  My New Years resolution this year is to lose 50 lbs.  Why is this a secret you ask? Well, because I want don’t just want to lose weight….I want to lose FIFTY pounds.  That is a lot of weight.Let me back up.  Once upon a time I lost a lot of weight.  I was feeling pretty good about my weight but I never hit my goal weight.  (Now I look back and think how stupid I was to not see I was looking good at the weight I didn’t love.)  Then my hubby and I decided to start trying to get pregnant.  Suddenly the “it is okay if I eat junk” and “it is okay if I don’t go to the gym” attitude took over.  I gained 40 lbs in the 18 months it took to get pregnant.  Then I put on the weight of pregnancy.  Now here I am, working hard to lose it all.

I need all the help I can get to help me lose this weight.  Cute workout clothes, new shoes, a gym partner…anything that says, “Stay motivated!” is right down my alley.Fitbit is a company dedicated to helping you get healthier and become more active by encouraging you to make daily, small changes.  You see, studies have shown that if you just walk 10,000 steps a day, you can gain immeasurable health benefits, but an average American only walks 6,000 steps a day.  Fitbit gives you a “tool to motivate you to make small changes throughout your day (walk a little bit more, eat a little bit better), and you can see/track how all these things add up to big results on your computer and your phone.”  Fitbit is the market leader in innovative health and fitness products and the maker of the popular fitness products.Fitbit wants to help me get healthier and reach my goals.  Fitbit sent me the Fitbit One to be my new buddy and daily motivator.  I am super excited to be given the opportunity to have some help along the way.  I am going to shatter my New Years resolution and 50 lb. goal.

As soon as my Fitbit One arrived, I tore open the package and downloaded the software.  That’s right!  This little beauty connects wirelessly with PCs, Macs, the iPhone 4S, 5, the 3rd generation iPad, iPod touch, and – coming soon – select Android phones.  Just another way Fitbit is designed to help you get healthier.  It was super easy to set up.  I jumped on the Fitbit.com website and set up my free account.  With this account my Fitbit One will automatically sync every time I use my computer.  Then I can just go online to see all my stats in real-time.  The website is full of graphs, charts, and tools designed to help you track your progress and understand your health and fitness. You just log your exercise, food, and weight and the Fitbit One takes care of your calories burned, flights of stairs climbed, miles traveled, and step taken.  It will even tell you how long you slept and how many times you woke up!!  This is high tech I tell you.  No fear though…it isn’t too high tech for anyone.  It is super easy!!Besides being super easy to setup it is super small.  Check it out!Tiny huh!?  (1.89″ long, .76″ wide, and .38″ thick)  It will fit easily and comfortably on your belt, your pocket, or even on your bra.  I am wearing mine on my bra.  (no pictures, sorry  ) I wear it right in the middle…cleavage area.  No one even knows it is there.  Sometimes I even forget it is there.  (I am pretty excited about my Fitbit though so I think about it regularly.)

Available in black and burgundy, this wonderful Fitbit One has a battery that will last 5-7 days.  This is nice because if you don’t get a chance to sync your data it will hold the information for several days.  Then when you do have a chance to sync it up and charge it all it takes is 2 hours to charge the battery back to 100%.Just when you think this little baby can’t get any fancier it does!  When you wear it in the wristband at night it tracks how long you sleep and the number of times you woke up.  Then it provides you with a sleep quality score.  This was you can apply what you learn to help you sleep more soundly.  Something we all need to feel really great.  The Fitbit One also has a silent wake alarm that gently vibrates to wake you at your desired time, without disturbing your partner.  Not only will your partner thank you for not waking them, but waking up to a soft vibration is WAY better than waking up to a BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!  Ooooo!  I just HATE that noise! For $99.95 you will receive all that you see above.  (From left to right)  You get the Fitbit One, a clip to wear it on your belt, pocket, or bra, a wireless transmitter, a wristband for night wear, and (bottom) a USB charging cord.  It is an affordable price to help you change your life, help you become healthier, and help you get more sound sleep.  This is a perfect item to help you or your loved one reach fitness goals!!
