Delivery Day Style

Before I headed to the hospital at, I hurried and jumped in the shower to wash of the sweat of the 4th off, freshen up my hair, and put on my make up.  I wanted to make sure that not only did I feel cute, but I looked good for pictures.  Call my silly but I wanted to look and feel good for such a special day.  I wanted to make sure my son met his mommy and wasn’t scared. )  No really though, I just wanted to feel like a normal person when family and friends came to meet our bundle of joy for the first time. Modmum knows that you will always remember what you were wearing on special days.  Not only do they want you to look and feel pretty but they want to make your special day even more memorable.

Modmum is run by Lisa, a Texas mom and wife to a man who works in Labor & Delivery.  She has been able to create the perfect hospital gown that is not only practical but affordable and beautiful. I received a Modmum hospital delivery gown in Alli.  This gown is a deep purple with beautiful flowers on it.  I received mine with a hot pink satin ribbon but there are 18 other colors of ribbon that you could chose from. The fabric is high quality and not see through in the slightest.  Modmum lays out the sizing so well that you can’t go wrong with it. I received a large to ensure that it would fit with my chest after baby is born. I LOVE this gown!  Actually that is quite an understatement. The gown is seriously my BFF. It is perfect for the hospital with snaps all the way down the back.  This means easy access for nurse and doctor needs and the heaven sent epidural. There are also snaps on both breastbones to allow you to breastfeed discreetly.

These snaps are actually better placed than the ugly hospital gowns. Those snaps go down the shoulder so when they are unsnapped not only is your whole shoulder exposed but the back piece falls down the back of you and has to be fished out when you want to cover back up.  Modmum unsnaps from the breastbone to the armpit, keeping the gown sleeve on your arm.  SOOO much better!  You can even unsnap both sides to allow for unforgettable skin to skin interaction with baby without showing off your entire upper body. Another thing that I like about Modmum is the length of the gown.  I am 5’6″ and this gown hit me midcalf.  The ugly hospital gowns hit me just above my knee.  When you sit in a hospital bed the gown natural becomes shorter.  If you are like me, after having a baby your hormones go crazy and you are hotter than you were when you were pregnant.

This made me want to shed my sheets at the hospital but when visitors come, if you are wearing the hospital provided gown, you can show more skin than you want.  With Modmum you can stay covered when the covers are off. Speaking of staying covered, the snaps down the back are perfectly placed so the back doesn’t become a peep show.  You can feel confident getting out of bed and walking around without showing the world your whole back side.  Thank you! The ribbon is a beautiful satin and can be removed if desired.  There are loops on either side of the gown to hold the ribbon in place.  Tie the bow in the front, back, or on the side.  As I mentioned before there are 19 different ribbon colors to chose from so you can make sure to show of your personal style.

Now that I am home I have used this gown almost every single day.  (Had to wash it eventually )  This gown has become my right hand man.  It is so easy to wear around the house.  It is comfortable and keeps me covered.  I wouldn’t feel embarrassed if a visitor came to my house and I was wearing this gown.  It makes night nursing, midnight nursing, 3 AM nursing, and morning nursing so easy.  I don’t have to lift up my entire dress around my neck just to feed baby.  I can’t say enough how comfortable and convenient this gown is at home. Enjoy skin to skin interaction while staying covered up

I can’t say enough about Modmum’s products.  This hospital gown is so much more than just a delivery gown.  Take it home and enjoy it even longer. Modmum also sells matching maternity robes, diaper clutches, headbands, newborn skirts, minky stroller blankets, pillowcase, and monogrammed infant hats. Modmum hospital gowns would make great a great baby shower present.  In fact, I gave 3 different nurses at the hospital the Modmum website.  They all said they couldn’t wait to give it to their loved one for a baby shower present.  They each said that they were looking for a unique gift and this was it.  One loved Modmum so much she sent me a thank you note in the mail for telling her about Modmum! These are not just for moms-to-be.  Give one to someone going in for surgery, battling cancer, or dealing with any other medical issue.  Every one has the right to feel pretty and special during their hospital stay.
