My kids love to watch Nickelodeon. It has been a staple in our house for a long time. One of their favorite shows is Victorious. They think it is such a funny show! They love that the kids go to a school where they sing, dance and act. It makes the show a little different then the rest of the other shows out there. This DVD is a 2 disk collection of the 12 episodes from season 2.
Disc 1: Beck Falls for Tori
Helen Back Again
Locked Up (TV Movie)
Tori Gets Stuck
Tori Tortures Teacher
Jade Gets Crushed
Disc 2: Who Did it to Trina?
Beggin’ on Your Knees
Ice Cream for Ke$ha
Prom Wrecker
Terror on Cupcake Street
Blooptorious
If you are in need of a few good laughs…cheesy, but good….Victorious is a good choice. Hailee said the DVD was funny, no hilarious…minus the bad words. I reassured her that there wasn’t any bad words in it. She apparently considers “dog backwards” to be a bad enough word that it bothered her. So, heads up moms, they say Oh my Go* in this show. Enjoy! Real Mom Approved!
Released just in time for the Easter Holiday, HOP is sure to delight your little ones if it happens to appear in their Easter Baskets amongst their chocolate bunnies and sweet candy chicks!
From the makers of Despicable Me comes an all-new comedy about candy, chicks and rock n roll! HOP! He was destined to be the Easter Bunny, but all he wanted to do was rock! When teenage E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand) leaves for Hollywood in pursuit of his dream to become a rockstar drummer, he meets Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker with his own lofty goals. Together the two encounter a series of hilarious mishaps and misadventures and in the end help each other recognize the importance of family.
I was seriously counting down the days until the DVD release of HOP. That may sound absolutely silly, but I was never able to see it in the theatres and have only heard wonderful things about the movie! {You better believe I was green with envy when my mom took ava to see it last year!} When we got our copy, we couldn’t get it in the DVD player fast enough. I don’t know who was more excited, the kids or myself! Okay, I’ll admit it, I WAS! Ha! And I have to say, I love when a movie lives up to my expectations! HOP is a darling story about how through a fun and adventurous chain of events, the first human Easter bunny comes to be! There are strong messages about friendship, second chances, loyalty, and family; with a lot of humor and adorable characters, of course! Russel Brand is the perfect voice for E.B., so cheeky! I adore James Marsden and Kaley Cuoco; they make a perfect brother sister duo! This movie had the perfect cast and a great storyline! It really is a great Easter movie and has definitely become a favorite around our house this Easter season!

I don’t like to go to a movie knowing much more then a brief synopsis of what the movie is about. If I know more then that, then I expect things out of the movie…you know, if you heard that it is hilarious then you go and it is funny, but not hilarious and you are let down. Well, I went to see Mirror Mirror with my family and of course “expected” it to be like Disney’s Snow White. Well, hate to spoil anyone else expectations of this movie, but there are no swarming/singing animals, no singing into a wishing well, and certainly no Hi Ho-ing. This isn’t your mama’s Snow White movie….it’s BETTER!
One of the most beloved stories of all time is coming to life in the motion picture Snow White legend, Mirror Mirror. A fresh and funny retelling of the Snow White legend, Mirror Mirror features breakout star Lily Collins (The Blind Side) as Snow White, a princess in exile, and Oscar®-winner Julia Roberts as the evil Queen who ruthlessly rules her captured kingdom. Seven courageous rebel dwarfs join forces with Snow White as she fights to reclaim her birthright and win her Prince in this magical adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the hearts and imaginations of audiences the world over. The film also stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the Prince, and Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) as the hapless and bungling servant to the Queen.
With just the tiniest of similarities to the original movie, this is a super fun twist on an old fairy tale. It was simply magical to watch. It made us laugh, smile, and put my kids on the edge of their seat. There is love, magic and sword fights….a little something for everyone. Julia Roberts, who is one of my faves, is surprisingly evil. She makes a super villain, which you don’t get to see out of her very often. When I asked Josh what he thought of the movie he said, “It was a great family movie. The kids loved it, but it was adult enough that I enjoyed it, too.” For my hubby to like a “kid” movie….now that is success! I was impressed that there wasn’t a single swear word and not any “questionable material” that I would have been uncomfortable with my kids seeing. I hate going to a movie and thinking “I hope my kids don’t get that” or worse, repeat that. No need to worry in this flick, everything is magical and wonderful!
My hubby, kids and I attend the screening and we all left with smiles on our faces. You are sure to love this movie! It is a MUST see and Real Mom (and her family…including the hubs) Approved!
Spring is finally starting to peak around the corner in my neck of the woods. And I do mean peak. Some days we have fantastic weather, then other days it’s all rain, wind, nasty outside. My little guy LOVES being outside. I think he would live out there if I let him…. and he’s only 18 months! On the days it is nice, boy have we been outside A LOT! But the other not so nice days? Well, it’s inside we stay and play instead. I’m not a fan of plopping my kiddo in front of the TV… and at this age he doesn’t stay put for many things on the TV. We have our collection of “educational Einstein ” DVD’s, but only those hold his attention for so long. And sometimes Momma needs to actually make something at the stove! So, when we were given the chance to try out Awesome Adventures: Rescue Friends, a new DVD collection from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment, I jumped at the chance.
Awesome Adventures: Rescue Friends
An all-new line just for boys is coming to the rescue! Awesome Adventures features six episodes from your favorite preschool characters Thomas & Friends™, Fireman Sam™, and Bob the Builder™ in Awesome Adventures: Rescue Friends available March 13 on DVD, Digital Download, and On Demand from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment. Join your friends for these thrilling episodes as they act with courage, heart and selflessness to help their friends and save the day!
Calling all heroes! Spencer shows his mettle when he steams through thick fog to rescue Percy while Toby’s new whistle rings friends and animals to safety! Bob the Builder’s Machine Team helps Scratch out of a sticky situation, as Dizzy surprises her friends – and herself – when she turns a big mistake into a great success. Fireman Sam proves that a hero’s work is never done and James learns that some rescues are best left to the professionals. Everyone is racing to the rescue in this exciting collection from your favorite preschool friends!
Now I didn’t think My little guy would be quite old enough for it, but I figured we’d see how it went and save it for later if needs be. Boy was I surprised!! He LOVE it! The first time I put it in, he sat on my lap, worked on his thumb and ear, and watched four out of six episodes! Now he asks for it almost everyday! I have to come up with creative alternatives so we aren’t watching TV all day! I really love how wholesome the episodes are. Each one teaches something about helping others and being kind, polite and such. I also love the cute little songs that go with each one! We sing them…well, I sing them and he bobs to them! It is so fun! We LOVE this collection and you will too!! Look for this DVD collection where other Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment children’s DVD’s are sold! For more information about other great collections and such from HIT Entertainment, check out their website.
Who knew that Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby could sing? Throw in a few singing vampires and you have a hit!! The crew stars in their first ever animated musical/movie, Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire.
“Get set for big laughs, good times and cool tunes with the Scooby-Doo gang as they travel to the super spooky parts of the Deep South for the Vampire-Palooza Festival. The event kicks off with good fun and lots of tasty Southern snacks, but it’s not long before the festivities are interrupted by a real vampire who threatens the townsfolk and tries to take Daphne for his vampire bride!
Good thing our intrepid heroes don’t believe in the bloodsuckers — or do they? Packing a little garlic never hurt anyone, except a vampire, and so the gang sets out to investigate. Could the culprit be the descendant of a famous vampire hunter who is trying to sell his book? Or is it the festival’s owner, who is trying to use vampire lore to promote the fair? Maybe it’s the festival’s traveling musical troupe, whose very handsome lead singer is taking his vampire role just a little too seriously?
Things get more complicated when Shaggy, believing he’s been bit by a vampire, decides to hide from his friends in the swamp, but his loyal friend Scooby-Doo will not abandon him. And when Daphne goes missing, can Fred and Velma bring everyone together to prevent her from becoming the vampire queen? Everything culminates in a not-to-be-missed song-filled showdown in the swamp!”
The minute my kids saw the DVD/Blu-Ray sitting on the counter, it was a mad dash to get it playing. One grabbed the box and began ripping the wrapper off. The second turned on the TV and DVD player, while the third got treats ready. Mia, she just sat and waited for the fun to begin. We have always loved Scooby at our house, but this DVD is a fun twist on the original show. My kids loved the movie! They think vampires are pretty cool, so for them to have a movie that combines and a little scare with a little silly, they were thrilled! Once the movie was over, they karaoked….over and over. At the end of the movie is about a 15 minute karaoke segment where you can sing with Shaggy and the gang. Mia begged to take it to the sitters house the next day.
The movie was perfect! It was funny, silly and perfectly Scooby! Rhu-Row! Real Mom and Kiddo’s Approved!
The 80′s called and said “what a great movie!” (Though not much like the original 80′s TV show) Josh and I went to see 21 Jump Street and laughed our heads off!
In the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. But they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier – and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind.
I thought Josh might like this one, since he is a cop and all and the whole movies is about a couple of cops. I was right! Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum star in this action/comedy. They are a SUPER pair! I have seen movies with both guys and was interested to see how the two would interact together. Jonah Hill is in a few not-so-family-friendly movies like Superbad and Knocked Up. Most things that I have seen with him have been a little naughty, but then there are others like How to Train a Dragon and Night at the Museum that my kids love. The movies that I could recall with Channing Tatum were chick flicks like The Vow and Dear John. Josh knew him…but from a more manly movie, GI Joe. I haven’t thought of him as “funny” (good looking, yes) until tonight. The entire movie was laugh out loud funny. I am a laugh-er, Josh not so much….and he laughed over and over. ( The guy behind me laughed about every 30 seconds!)
This is NOT a family movie!! There is LOTS of language, sex talk, drug/alcohol, and violence. If naughty words don’t bother you, then you will laugh yourself silly. I liked the story, Josh liked the “cop” aspect. After seeing it, his comment was “I wish we could talk like that to the people we arrest.” Oh brother! In the movie, these two are new (pretty crappy) cops. One smart, one tough. Once they FINALLY get an arrest, they think it is awesome, I thought it was funny! I am a little raunchy (in a good way of course) and thought the movie was great. It is very Superbad-esk…meaning it is crude. Don’t go expecting a clean cut, watch with your mother movie, cause you will be embarrassed
We loved it!! Go potty before the movie for your own “safety.”
I thought we had seen every cartoon known to man. I was wrong! Ever heard of Timmy Time? It is on Disney’s Junior Channel (which we don’t have-so I have an excuse). It is made by the producers of Wallace and Gromit and Shawn the Sheep. It has that same kind of animation…looks kinda clay-mation to me. The DVD we go to check out is called Timmy Finds Treasure.
There’s tons of fun to boot-y with preschool favorite Timmy in the all-new release Timmy Time™: Timmy Finds Treasure, available on DVD March 13, 2012 from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment. Come aboard and yo-ho-hold on as the loveable lamb gets his pirate on in five treasure-filled episodes that arrrrrr sure to entertain your little swashbuckler again and again. With slapstick humor and not a single line of dialogue, Timmy Time follows a day in the life of barnyard preschoolers. With diverse animal characters along with a rich and colorful nursery school backdrop, Timmy and his friends learn life lessons that every preschooler needs to know.
Ahoy! There’s LOOTs of fun to be had with Timmy and his mateys in this collection of woolly tales! Timmy practices his pirate captain skills, accidentally leading his crew to special treasure. There’s mis-arrrdventure on the hunt for treasure and the crew must get creative to get back on course. Then when Timmy sets sail, he and his friends cause chaos on the seas. Join Timmy for some swashbuckling fun and see that good mateys are the best treasure of all!
Episodes:
·“Timmy Finds Treasure”
·“Timmy’s Treasure Hunt”
·“Timmy’s Tractor”
·“Timmy Makes A Splash”

Mia was so excited to take this one to her friends house (who doesn’have Disney Junior, either). Both of them sat glued to the TV watching hte entire DVD. Then, the friend wanted to borrow the DVD. It was a HIT! The little girls loved it and laughed hysterically. I love to hear the kids laugh at the TV! Makes me laugh at them laughing Real Mom and the Neighbors Approved!
I remember getting up bright and early on Saturday mornings, sneaking down to the family room, turning on the TV and watching cartoons. We would sit on the heater vents with our nightgowns pulled up over our knees to keep the heat in. Our cereal bowl would be balanced on top of our tent of a night gown and we would sit and watch…for hours. We had a few favorites…Smurfs, Jabber Jaw, My Little Pony and of course Tom and Jerry. We were always cheering for Jerry as he would run from and cause trouble for poor Tom. I love sharing those fun memories with my kids, so I was thrilled to sit down with them and watch Tom & Jerry: Out of the Dog House.
Join the favorite cat and mouse duo along with their co-star Spike the Dog in Tom & Jerry: In the Dog House, a collection of shorts comprised of some of the funniest episodes from Tom and Jerry Tales, Tom and Jerry Greatest Chases and classic, theatrical Tom and Jerry shorts. Each cartoon is filled with fur-flying, action-packed chases, schemes and pranks that will delight kids and their parents time and again.
Included is the award winning short Quiet Please! in which Spike warns Tom not to make a sound while he naps. Other classic shorts included are Tom’s Photo Finish, in which Tom frames the family dog in order to avoid getting into trouble. In another featured classic, Cat Napping, Tom tries to fish at a private lake guarded by Spike. Also featured is Solid Serenade, in which Tom tries to serenade Toodles, a beautiful lady feline but not before he finds an ingenious way to get past Spike the dog. These and several other rollicking favorites are featured in this set.
My kids loved that it had 22 short little episodes on it. They thought Spike the Dog as so funny! I love that there isn’t any questionable language or content in. It is so sad that I have to occasionally switch the channel due to the fact that the CARTOON my kids are watching isn’t a “kid show” at all! Just one more reason why we love the funny feline and mischievous mouse! It is super fun to watch, even though you know that poor Tom will never catch Jerry! Fun for kids and adults! Real Mom Approved!!

Ava was so excited when her copy of Angelina Ballerina: Ballerina Princess arrived in the mail. She took ballet for several months and then didn’t want to do it anymore. Recently she has started showing interest in going back to her class and I’m thinking Angelina Ballerina may have a little something to do with this recent change of heart. She loves watching Angelina Ballerina videos; they make ballet look like so much fun and Angelina is always dancing through each episode looking fabulous! She can’t get enough of her new Ballerina Princess DVD and it is a must have for any Angelina Ballerina fan! Whether you know her through the line of DVD’s or the popular Angelina Ballerina Children’s book series, you and your child are sure to adore this DVD.
