Magical Sippy Cups! {The First Years Magical Color Change Sippy Cups Review & Giveaway}

Have kids? Then, I am sure you have sippy cups! I have two young ones and I want to keep my carpet and furniture “nice” for as long as humanly possible! I was very excited to have the chance to try out the new line of sippy cups from The First years. These aren’t just any old sippy cup. They are Magical color changing sippy cups! Boy, was my little guy thrilled when his “toy story 3″ sippy cups arrived. My daughter got “princess” ones, and she was tickled pink by their “prettiness”. Both styles were welcomed with smiling cute faces and they were ready to be filled up with juice and milk right away.

Watch the action! Each insulated sippy cup changes color when cold liquid is added. For peace of mind, the color fades as the liquid warms to room temperature.

We have been using them now for about two weeks. First off, I have to say that I am impressed, no leaks! That’s a #1 thing I look for in a sippy cup. As I stated before, I want to keep my stuff as nice as I can as long as I can. Secondly, I am very impressed by their easy clean valve system. It’s built right into the lid of the sippy, so I don’t have to search for parts to put my sippy cup together. I just grab the cup and the lid and we are set! I can throw them in the dishwasher and they come out ready to use instantly.

Now, my kids….they love the color changing concept. They gasp and ahhhh each time I pour the cold liquid in. They think it’s so much fun and so magical. It’s fun just watching them experience the magic of the sippy cup. They each love their new cups and use them everyday. Mom loves them too!

One Second, Accurate Reading Everytime! {Safety1st VersaScan Talking Thermometer Review}

sniffle, sniffle, sniffle. That’s what I heard coming from my little ones room all day long. He played and played and sniffled and sniffled. “Oh no, I thought.” He’s coming down with a cold. Just when I thought Spring was here and the cold and flu season had passed us….think again!

Well, since there is no cure for the common cold but rest and fluids….but there is a new product that will help during the sick process. The new VersaScan Talking Thermometer. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to test this new product out. First off, it comes with batteries. I love it when a product doesn’t make me have to search for batteries. I quickly put them in and we were ready to go. It features a one second reading and it even “talks” out the reading. How cool is that. You are able to switch the talking mode on and off so if you are using it while your child is sleeping you don’t have to worry about waking them. Next, you can use it to read the temperature of bath water, and even food. You never want to worry that your babies food is too hot or the bath water too hot. So this is one handy tool for any mom.

The VersaScan TALKING thermometer speaks up to let you know what temperature it’s reading in just one second. Also great for confirming that food and bath water temperatures are within a safe range.

We tested it out on our son, and it was very easy to use. We inserted it in his ear and 1 second later we had a reading. 98.4, so no fever insight. Thanks goodness. It does however have a red ring that lights up if your child does have a fever so you know right away.

Which One Is Not Like The Other Ones? {MAM Personalized Pacificer Review}

With baby coming in June I have been doing a lot of reading and researching about what to do and what not to do. One thing I have decided is, I plan on being a pacifier mom. Why? I learned that the American Academy of Pediatrics encourage pacifier use under the age of one. Pacifiers help a baby soothe itself and when used when the baby is falling asleep can reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). They are to be used to help satisfy the baby’s noneating sucking needs. “Remember, the pacifier is for your baby’s benefit, not your convenience, so let her decide whether and when to use it.”

Picking a pacifier isn’t hard right? A pacifier is a pacifier. Nothing special about it. WRONG! It is important to pick the right pacifier for your baby for health, safety, and development reasons. Pick a pacifier that is all one piece. Pick a pacifier that is orthodontist and pediatric dentist approved. These have a rounded top and a flat bottom. They were designed to prevent tooth troubles later in baby’s life.

I chose to get the pacifier made for 0-6 months. These pacifiers “have a smaller shield for maximum safety and comfort.” The shield is curved for comfort and the “unique surface inside pacifier shield and air holes allow baby’s skin to breathe.” Baby is going to be so cute with this in his little mouth!

All the Pretty Horses {Music Together Lullabies Review}

My little munchkin LOVES music! He is running around the house now and I find that he is very attentive to the sounds around him. He has a favorite music player that he will bounce up and down to… yes primitive dancing, but dancing all the same! We love to listen to music together. From the tie he was a newborn I have always had music playing for him when he goes to sleep. I was recently given the opportunity to add to our collection of music with a great CD called Music Together Lullabies.

It is a fantastic collection of lullabies put together by Music Together founder/director Kenneth K. Guilmartin. He wanted to create a way for children to develop music skills naturally and joyfully and they learn to talk. He worked with music education researcher Lili M. Levinowitz, Ph. D, to develop Music Together, a pioneering music and movement program introduced to the public in 1987. This innovative program is based on the philosophy that all children are musical, that hey can achieve basic music competence, that the modeling of parents and caregivers is essential to the child’s music learning, and that this learning is best accomplished in a non-formal, developmentally appropriate setting. The curriculum includes a mix of original songs and traditional tunes from the folk, jazz, and world-music traditions. I was also sent a mini rain maker shaker, which allows baby to add to the music and also discover the world of music on their own.

I am in LOVE with this collection of lullabies. My favorite thing is that this is NOT the typical lullaby collection. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the good old standards like Twinkle, Twinkle, Rock a bye Baby, etc, but it is so very refreshing to have a collection that is new, original, and that also has a new world twist to it. I sometimes play MY relaxing music for my little guy, but now he has his very own collection. This great collection can be found along with some other great collections online. There is also information on the classes as well as a class locator. I think I may just have to look into going to a class. Music is such an important part of learning for a child and I am so excited to have discovered this world of music exploration. Thanks Music Together!

Being pregnant I hear other pregnant ladies talk about why they wanted or a boy or why they wanted a girl. I received two adorable pieces from mybabyclothes.com–the Mud Pie Monkey Swim Trunks and Ruffle Butts Blue Woven Tie .

Aren’t these little swim trunks stinkin’ cute!? The fabric is high quality and the colors are nice and bright. I love the patterns and the details..the monkey has a button nose!! There is also a blue and white zebra patterned pocket on the booty. The swim trunks even have a mesh lining…quality I tell you! I can hardly wait to take my little guy to the pool.

And then there is the tie. Honestly, this looks like a grown man’s tie but shrunk down. It is top of the line quality and adjustable to grow with baby. This works for newborns to 2 years. What a great way to spend $10!! Now if my little one would just make his appearance so I can dress him up and take him to church and other events.

Unique Diaper Cakes! {Diaper CakeWalk Review}

It’s easy to see why diaper cakes are such a hit at baby showers! Just look at them. A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!

They are so much fun! They feature a cake like design, and all the practical items that a mom-to-be needs. Just look how cute it is:

I recently had the opportunity to review Diaper CakeWalk’s diaper cake. It arrived very nicely packaged. All I had to do was pull it out and it was ready to gift. It featured the cutest green frog and lots of fun baby must-have items. The style I got is perfect for a baby shower where the mama doesn’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet, since it’s pretty neutral.

They also offer neutral cakes along with girl and boy designs. I find it hard to find that “perfect” gift when it comes to attending a baby shower. I usually spend hours online and in the store looking and looking. Why not get a diaper cake?!? It is cute, the presentation is fun, and it includes everything mommy and baby will need.

My sister is having a baby soon and I think this diaper cake would be perfect since she is having a little girl!

Isn’t it cute? I love the ‘spring’ feel it brings.
