Raspberry Freezer Jam in under 30 Minutes! {Ball® FreshTECH Automatic Jam Maker Giveaway}

rmrv raspberry freezer jam start

Today I am making freezer jam. While I am not a professional canning goddess, thanks to my new Ball FreshTECH Automatic Jam Maker I am able to make Jam or Jelly at the drop of a hat! The FreshTECH makes it easy!

WHAT YOU NEED:

Fresh Fruit

Pectin (I used the Ball Real Fruit no-sugar/low sugar needed Pectin),

Sugar

Water

I recommend the FreshTECH as it takes the stirring over the stove method out of the picture. But if you want you can simply simmer in a pot stirring frequently.

PREP:

I place all my bottles, rings, and lids in the dishwasher and run on the hottest setting. I recommend half pint jars for freezer jam. It’s just the right size!

Picking your fruit-I am lucky that my dad has a ton of raspberries in his yard. Every year he calls us when they are ripe and we head over for picking. I enlisted the help of my kiddos on this one. Raspberries take a long time to pick, I think my kids ate more than went in the buckets this year. :) You can also watch for case lot sales of fresh fruit in your town or farmer’s markets. Every year a semi rolls in to a local corner with cases of strawberries and I always run over and grab some. You can also pick up fruit at your local store but this is usually too expensive for canning in my book.

Measure the amount of fruit needed for your recipe. Wash your fruit and place in a deep bowl, smash with a potato masher

HOW IT WORKS:

Simply layer your pectin in the bottom of your Ball FreshTECH.pectin

Next layer fruit & water next. Turn the FreshTECH on and press the jam setting, then enter.

It will begin to mix the ingredients together. Then about 4 minutes later the machine will beep 4 times to let you know it’s time to add the sugar. Once all the sugar is in place the lid on and wait.

Here’s the Ball FreshTECH in action stirring in my sugar!

All together it takes approximately 20 minutes to make your jam. When it beeps that it is done, remove lid, pull out the stirrer part with a hot pad and ladle into prepped jars.

Let them cool for at least 30 minutes then pop the lids on and place in the freezer. FRESH JAM!
