My son is a little bit of a picky eater….just a little bit. He doesn’t like any veggies except potatoes. He will eat sweet potatoes, baked potatoes, and french fries like they are going out of style. Too bad they are really a carb and not so much a veggie. I want him to like carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, broccoli, peas…you know the REAL veggies. Every time I try to give them to him he refuses. He will like the ranch off them but never touch the actual vegetable. The only way he gets any veggies is if they are masked by fruits and in a pouch. As great as pouches are…they are expensive!
Squooshi understands my pain though. Shannon and her father Noel, created a product to help to provide children with fresh, nutrient dense, homemade food on the go while saving money and being better for the environment. Shannon’s son loved pouches but she didn’t like the waste and expense, especially when she could provide homemade food for him. After two and half years of research and testing, Squooshi reusable food pouches were born.
Squooshi pouches are reusable food pouches that allow you to give your children healthy options while reducing waste, saving you money, and saving energy. These easy to use pouches are BPA-free, Phthalate-free, PVC-free, and Lead-free. Just fill them up with your favorite grain, veggie, legume, dairy, and fruit combinations and your child will enjoy a nutritious snack in the car, at the park, or even on the couch. Play with your own recipes or use some of Squooshi’s recipes.
I was excited to try out our new Squooshi pouches because I wanted to see if I could get my son to eat veggies without him even knowing it. I used the Squooshi “Little Green Monster” recipe and filled up a few pouches. Only fill them up 3/4 of the way because you need to be able to close and zip the bottom shut. (I may or may not have forgotten the 3/4 rule the first time. OOPS!) I gave one to Beckham and froze the others for a later date. He drank that smoothie right up! He had no idea he was downing avocado and spinach!!
Squooshi pouches are freezable and dishwasher safe. To thaw, simply move the pouch from the freezer to the fridge. Better yet, use it as an ice pack to keep other food cool. Your food will be safe and your pouch will be ready when you are! When you are done cleanup is a breeze. Unzip the bottom of the pouch, rinse out and stick it in your dishwasher. Need it sooner? Just use a bottle brush to get the inside and edges clean and air dry!
These great on the go reusable pouches are available in small and large sizes. Pick them up in animal designs or bright patterns.
