Spring break passed by so quickly!  Vacations are such a great time for family bonding and throwing daily responsibilities to the wind that I get bummed when they end.  This year my family enjoyed a fabulous vacation in Chattanooga, TN.  Since it was a half day drive for us, it was the perfect opportunity to plan some craft time for my girls.  With the help of the Choose Friendship Company and their fantastic craft kits we were entertained for hours!

Oodles of Doodles. {Doodle Roll Giveaway}

When we are finished the crayons go back in their little compartment for save keeping and we can decide whether to tear the doodle page off or re-roll it easily back in and keep the whole set of doodles together on one long page. The Doodle Roll is the perfect size to take on the go, whether you’re taking a family road trip, out to dinner, or going for a doctors visit, it fits nicely in a purse or diaper bag to save the day at any given moment. Life In Motion {Kahava Review}

Ladies, how much does your purse weigh?  Mine…about 10 lbs!  Literally!!  I have everything you could possibly imagine in it.  Worst part, I don’t even have kids yet!!

I love big purses because I DO carry tons around with me.  The problem about big purses is that they can become big black holes.  I put my keys in there and can never find them again.  I have to tip my purse at an angle and shake all while searching around the bottom of my purse.  OH BOY!  It is a complete black hole if my debit card doesn’t make it back in my wallet.  Good luck finding that one!

The real pain…seriously pain…comes when you shop or travel with your black hole.  Your shoulder starts to ache.  You have to set it in the cart.  You are constantly setting it on the floor to do other things.

Kahava is the answer to our 10 lb. black holes.

This is great for sports.  Hiking, snowboarding, skateboarding, running, walking, horseback riding, or biking.  You need to keep your keys, phone, and maybe a little snack on you.  It keeps your hands free!

This is awesome for traveling.  Wear it underneath a jacket and then don’t worry about being pick pocketed.

Take your kids to the park while wearing the Kahava. You don’t have to keep an eye on your purse while you play.

The list goes on and on!!

Kahava sent me the Bare Grey Kahava.  I love it.  It is nice and light and easy to wear.  It makes it so I only have to pack around the essentials…rather than my whole life in a purse.  After receiving this I told my mother all about.  She is currently planning a trip to China and has decided the Kahava is just what she needs while away.  Good thinking Mom!

This may seem obvious, but nothing can be more frustrating than buying something for your child and then realizing it doesn’t work for them because it wasn’t designed with a child in mind. Ava loves riding in the car, she always has. Ever since getting a newer vehicle last October, she has loved it even more due to the built in DVD player! Every time we get in the car she wants to watch a movie {no, we don’t watch every time…only on longer car rides}. The headphones that came with the system are our only problem. It’s like they were meant for an adult head…they are constantly falling off Ava and seem to be difficult for her to wear. We usually end up just playing the audio through the radio and not even dealing with the headphones at all. Since receiving the Kidz Gear wireless car headphones for kids things have changed…for the better! Ava loves wearing her headphones and they fit her little toddler head perfectly! No more playing sound for movies through the car speakers, now we get to enjoy our music {or even the quiet} while Ava enjoys her movie! These headphones are definitely made just for kids! As soon as we got them she wanted to wear them and kept them on for a pretty long time…just playing around the house. Too funny! She even asks for her “ears” {that’s what she calls her headphones} every time we get in the car, regardless of if we are going to watch a movie or not! Kidz Gear has really made some awesome headphones for little ones!

We’ve been trying to think of ways to occupy our girls while we take our twice-a-month trip to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Our cars don’t have a built-in DVD Stephanieplayer because our cars date back to the Clinton Administration, so we bought a portable one. I admit I was nervous when we received the Kidz Gear wired headphones because my girls don’t like hats, barrettes or having their hair brushed! So when the headphones arrived, I put them on myself first and then on them. At first they wiggled away but came back to try again…and they wouldn’t stop wearing them! That’s how I knew the Kidz Gear headphones were really comfortable. We then tried them in the car with the portable DVD player Wired_Headphones and played a favorite cartoon. All we heard from the back seat were giggles, singing and clapping. Without the noise of the cartoon itself, we were able to listen to the radio and…gasp…my husband and I actually carried on a conversation! So we love our Kidz Gear wired headphones for those long trips in the car. They are comfortable, work well, and give Mom and Dad a break too!

We do a lot of traveling, especially when the weather starts warming up. We have always had a small portable DVD player for our little guy, but never had headphones that fit him. He would always try to wear the set that we had and they would slip and Hollienever fit right. This made traveling a pain, because he always got very upset when he couldn’t hear the movie due to headphone issues. When Kidz Gear sent us their wired headphones we were very excited. Our little guy is able to wear them comfortably and they actually stay on as they are designed for his little head. He loves them so much that sometimes he refuses to take them off when we get out of the car. Thanks Kidz Gear for making the perfect headphones for our little ones!

One of the things you look forward to when you have kids is going to Walt Disney World! In speaking with my husband and other parents, we’ve all come to the consensus that we should wait a while, until our kids are five years old.

  • What to Eat: Great tips on how to save on meals, where to have a picnic, fun stuff like a Princess Tea (I took notice of that one!) and dinner shows, and what to do if you need to consider special dietary needs.
  • Childcare: Yes, you can have date-night with your hubby!

The appendices at the back of the book provide quick references to packing lists, dining and recreation costs for different restaurants and attractions, local shopping and medical care, locations of all the playgrounds and pools, must-do lists broken down by age group, where Mickey and his friends will be located to greet your little ones, and phone numbers and websites for other planning resources.

    What I really liked, as a busy mom, is that the book is written in a clear and concise manner. This makes it a quick read, saving you even more time!

So, will we brave Walt Disney World during our preschool years? I think so! After reading Beyond the Attractions, my husband and I are thinking of maybe Christmas 2010, as in a year from now, as in when our twins are somewhere between three and a half and four year old. With this book in hand, I’m sure we will be more than fine! I can’t wait to see the wonder and excitement in my girls’ faces as they experience the Magic of Disney for the first time!
