Real Moms DIY: Making Cake Pops & Lovin’ My Tamron Lens!

Yes, I got ambitious and decided to go ALL OUT for my little one’s birthday.  You know they only turn 1 and 3 once! Hehe!  So I enlisted the help of my sisters and we went to work in the kitchen.

My yummy cake pops! Impressed???

They were easy to make and made such a fun colorful statement on the counter with our party theme!  Basically you use a box cake mix, bake, let cool, crumble and add in a can of frosting, then roll and chill in the fridge. Then the fun part-decorating.  Dip in chocolate and sprinkle with fun candies and coatings!  You must try them at your next party!

Another thing that I have been having fun with is my Tamron Lens.  I have loved having the opportunity to shoot with it.  I was able to take some fun pictures of the party and I have really loved getting to know the lens.  My hubby loves it too!  Especially when we are outdoors as he can zoom in on nature and our kids.  We get such great shots with every take.  I highly recommend you check out Tamron if you are in the market for a new lens. Seeing pictures in a whole new light! {Tamron all-in-one Zoom Lens Review}

Tamron’s next generation 18-270mm, the world’s lightest, smallest 15x zoom optimized.

I L-O-V-E taking pictures. I think my fascination started back in my college years when my roommate and I would go out and take pictures of each other. We would find fun spots, set up the shot, then post & smile our hearts out. Oh the memories we created with that little 35mm film camera. :) Now that we are in the new age and digital camera’s are all the rage, I am able to take as many pictures as I like with no worry of costs to print them out.  In fact sometimes that’s a bad thing since I have two adorable kids and hundreds thousands of pictures to show for them.

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Tamron 18-270mm all-in-one zoom lens with my Canon Rebel.  This couldn’t have come at a better time since my little girl (13 months) pulled my camera off of the desk and broke my lens.  When the doorbell rang and this baby arrived I quickly went to work putting it on and getting to work taking new pictures.

I was super impressed at first site.  My old lens was just the plain jane lens that came right out of the box with my camera and it only shot up to 75 mm.  Upon first usage of this Tamron lens I could immediately feel and see the difference.  First off, it’s weight was not heavy and bulky and it did not add much weight to my camera body. It felt light as air compared to my old lens.  Secondly, the zoom….amazing! I was able to stand at my back door and take shots of my son playing on his swing set clear across the yard. Impressed…YES, to say the least. I began shooting and grasped the feel of the lens and also adjusted my camera accordingly while using it.

Next, it was time to take this lens out and really see what it could do.  My sister in law asked me to help her with her senior pictures, so that was the challenge I took on with my new Tamron Lens. We set out one afternoon to see what we could get….are you ready to see them?

So far the Tamron Lens is amazing and I have been so impressed with the shots I have been able to capture using it. Having a good model helps too! {wink wink}

Can’t wait to use it for the upcoming Holidays and see what priceless memories I can create and preserve. Oh, and yes I will be sharing more of my fun finds on this lens with you too. So stay tuned!
