My mom is a huge college football fan, especially when it comes to the University of Texas! My brother went to school in Austin and we made several trips down during football season to catch games and other festivities! Since he graduated many years ago, she has remained a faithful fan and still wears her burnt orange on game days and throws up her horns when necessary! When the Stadium Stompers arrived at my door, I couldn’t have been more excited! I love giving a great gift and I knew these would make my mom smile from ear to ear! When I opened them up, I was so impressed with the quality and style of these adorable cowgirl-style rubber boots! My mom and I have the same size foot so I had to try them on and see how they fit. Stadium Stompers recommends ordering a size up due to the narrow toe on the boot. I was so glad they did, because they slid on easily and once they were on I didn’t want to take them off! They have a soft cotton lining and removable insoles which add extra comfort. I wore them around the house for a few minutes and they really were comfy! I decided since we are mid-football season, I must give these to my mom as an early Christmas present. I have the hardest time keeping a secret, so it actually worked out well! She was so excited when the kids took over her gift and wore the Stadium Stompers around the house the rest of the day! She commented on how comfortable and cute they are and how she couldn’t wait to wear them to work on spirit days! My mom works in a school and she wore her Stadium Stompers last week with all of her UT gear! Dirty Sneakers…..Clean them! {Reshoevn8r Review}

I love the clean and bright look of a brand new pair of athletic shoes.  The love affair ends however, once they have been run through the mud or grass stained.  Now dingy and dirty, they’re almost embarrassing to wear!   My husband is particularly rough on his sneakers, which requires me to either keep them clean, or let him continually purchase new pairs.  Since my choice is to keep them clean and save money, I have to wash them.  In the past I’ve just tossed them in the washing machine with warm water and some detergent, offering okay results, but now I’ll be using the Reshoevn8r.  What is a Reshoevn8r you ask?  Well, its a system that was created with the purpose of keeping your sneakers looking their best.  It includes a scrub brush, an eco-friendly sneaker cleaning solution, shoe trees and mesh bag.  My favorite part of the system is definitely the shoe trees that can be put in the wash!  They are just what I needed to keep the shape of my hubbies shoes while being tossed in the washer and then air dried.

Here is how the Reshoevn8r system works:

Step 1: Insert adjustable shoe tree’s

Insert the shoe tree into the shoe as shown below.

Step 2: Pre-treat

Gently scrub heavily soiled areas with Reshoevn8r Advanced Sneaker Cleaning Solution and brush.

Step 3: Reshoevn8r bag

Insert shoe’s  into Reshoevn8r bag as shown. Make sure soles are together.

Step 4: Cinch bag

Tighten cords at top and middle of bag.  Machine was COLD water ONLY.

Step 5: Place in washine machine

Wash COLD water only!!!

I love shoes!  I like high heels, running shoes, flats, wedges, boots, cheap, expensive….you name it!  If they go on my feet then I love them.  The only bummer part is just because the shoe is cute doesn’t mean that it is comfortable or healthy for you feet.

Since I work for a podiatrist, I took Hailee’s shoes into him to see if they were really “podiatrist approved.”  He took a good look at them and said, “These are about the closest thing you can get to being barefoot.”  I asked if that was good?  He said, ”It is all the rage right now (he is old) and it seems to working great for everyone that is wearing them.”  I said, “Would you put your kid in them?”  He replied, “You bet!  These are great shoes!”  There you go, podiatrist approved!  !  Hailee has had achy heels.  I took her into see the podiatrist and he put her in heel cups and told her to wear good shoes.  When she wears her Pediped shoes, she doesn’t need her heel cups because they are so comfy.  I asked Hailee how they felt when she wore them and she told me they are more comfortable then her tennis shoes, and they are darling Mary Jane’s.  OH!!  I can’t even begin to mention how many cute pairs they have!

Tricky Tying. {Loopers Laces Review}

Shoe tying can sometimes be a difficult and frustrating skill for children to learn as well as for parents to teach. I remember my big brother struggling for so long when we were growing up trying to learn how to tie his shoes. He eventually got out of his favorite Velcro kicks and moved on to laces, but it took him a while. I wish we would have had access to Loopers Laces back when we were young; I know they would have helped him {and my mom} so much.

Loopers Laces were designed by Dena Lehrman a professional Occupational Therapist & mother, to solve the frustration of learning to tie shoelaces and to turn the learning process into a positive experience that neither you nor your child will ever forget!
Shoelace tying has never been so simple! Using our system your child will soon be tying his/her shoelaces on their own.

When I was sent a set of Loopers Laces, I instantly thought of a good friend of mine whose son is struggling with learning how to tie his shoes. He gets each bow made and then has a difficult time keeping them tight and together to make the final bow. I made sure to pass these along to her and immediately, they got to work with the Loopers Laces! Her son thought the little shoes were pretty cool and she was amazed with the immediate progress he made. They followed the 6 steps and after a few tries he was able to tie the laces in a solid bow. The Velcro pads on the laces definitely helped him keep the bows in tact while he completed the remaining steps! He was so excited and she said he lit up the first time he made a bow. He wanted to keep untying and tying the laces over and over again. His ability to complete a bow gave him confidence and as he gets more efficient, she will get him going on the regular shoe laces. The Loopers Laces made this learning experience fun again for him, and he will be tying his own shoe laces in no time! I was going to wait a while to try and teach Ava, as she is only 4, but I think she might be able to get it with the help of the Loopers Laces! The Loopers Laces can be a great tool in helping teach your children this necessary and challenging skill!

Stand Up Straight {Booty Shapers Review}

Now is the time when we have switched out our wardrobes.  We have put the fall and winter things away and have out the spring and summer.  Same for shoes.  Boots are put away and sandals are out and ready to be worn.

I don’t know about you but I don’t have a whole separate closet for storage space.  So I have to make due with the space I have.  This also limits my shoe storage space.  My boots end up crumpled at the bottom of my closet.  Then when I pull them out to wear them in the fall or winter, they have a crease in them or have been smashed and are out of shape.  It seems like it takes all season long to reshape them and then at that they are never the same.

Miriam McKay, during one of her global shopping pilgrimages, recognized this booty creasing issue and found a solution.  She replaced wadded up newspaper or a piece of cardboard.  Booty Shapers was born!  “Booty Shapers are a simple and attractive way to protect boots all year round. IMG_9468We were sent an amazing pair of Umi Shoes, the big girl Arabella in Camelia, the most beautiful pink and white combo you can imagine! I ordered them a size up in hopes that they will be perfect for fall when Ava starts pre-school. Of course, we had to try them on upon arrival and believe me, the little one approves! In fact, she wore them around the house most of the afternoon and I finally got them off of her at bath time. Umi’s Arabella shoes are made of soft micro suede and accentuated with smooth lines and gorgeous hues. They also have a simple hook and look closure, so Ava will be able to get them on and off independently at school. You know, until she learns how to  tie a bow! The insides feel so soft and seem to have just the right amount of cushion. I know they are going to be such a comfortable shoe for her. I can’t wait for Ava to wear these great kicks to her first day of Pre-school in the fall. They are the perfect shoe. We are a shoe loving household. When I say “we”, I do mean every.single.one.of.us. {yes, daddy, too!} I knew Shoe-La-La would be the most perfect book to add to our collection, and that Ava would get a special kick out of it! When it arrived, we immediately sat down and read it together. Then a second read was requested, then a third….I know this would have gone on all afternoon. Eventually, Ava ended up “reading” it to herself over and over again while I did some dishes. She just went on and on about the silly girls and all the cute shoes and how she wanted this pair and that pair! I think her favorite part is when the girls tell the store manager that “those shoes hurt out toes!” She get’s quite a giggle every time we read that page! Of course, after reading through it so many times, she then had to go and try on all her shoes in search of the perfect pair! I just adore when she acts out stories we’ve read! This book is a rhyming book, which I always love and the illustrations are just to die for gorgeous! This is the perfect book for all the shoe lovers in your house, big and little!

Looking Good, Feeling Comfy, Getting Toned! {Crocs Tone Review}

I got to try a pair of crocs tone Skylar slingback flats in the watermelon/oyster color. I am probably the only person on earth who has 11416_pair_62Snever tried crocs before…I had heard they are comfortable but my feet are weird so who knows?! But when I tried on my flats, it was like there was nothing on my feet! Nothing scratching or chafing, and the bumpy insole was nice and not too bumpy. And usually I am not able to wear slingbacks because the back of my feet are narrower than the front. But the strap stays on and I’m able to walk for quite a while.

So that’s the comfy part…how about the toning? In addition to having weird-shaped feet, I also have weak arches. The sculpted outsole (think of an upside-down hill on the bottom of your feet) forces me to keep my feet from flopping outward. And when my feet and ankles are straight…whoa! I instantly felt the muscles along the inside as well as outside of my legs start to burn. I’m not saying that my legs now look like a supermodel’s but I do feel like I’m getting a workout, plus it’s really helped my posture as I’m more aware of how I’m walking.

What I also like about crocs tone is that you can’t tell they are toning shoes! I’ve seen other toning shoes and the soles are huge and obvious. My crocs tone flats are very sleek and look like regular shoes. And I love the watermelon color! If you don’t believe me, ask my girls…whenever I put on my crocs tone flats, my girls say “Mama, your shoes are pretty!” There are other cute colors to choose from as well:
