The funniest part of having a little girl is dressing her up. From frilly bows to adorable shoes, I just love it! I have to admit she loves being “pretty” too! We recently had the opportunity to review a darling dress from RuffleButts. I must say that this dress is cute just looking at the picture above, but it is absolutely to-die-for cute in person!  When it arrived my little princess squealed at her new pretty!  I had to order a size larger for her, since she is so tall, so it is a bit big in the waist area, but nothing that she won’t be able to grow into this summer!  We love it. Think it sounds amazing?!  Wait until you have tried it!!  My kids had so much fun creating their animal.  She went from cute, to weird, back to cute again.  Once they figured out how to change her hands, her feet, her face and even the shape of her head; they were in heaven!  My kids played on the website for about an hour making the perfect animal to have created.  They made her eyes big then small.  They swapped noses over and over.  The image on the tummy was the most difficult for them to agree on.  Once they had her created, named and ordered, the week long wait began.  They checked the mailbox daily looking for their new friend.  After about a week, she arrived and looked IDENTICAL to the masterpiece they had create!  They couldn’t have been happier with how she turned out.  Everything was perfect.  You can tell by the pictures how close she really is.  The picture on the left is the image that my kids created using the Create a Toy feature.  The image on the right is the item that we received.  The colors, shapes and proportions are identical to the image that they created.  I was amazed at how close it really is!!  As a mom, I was really impressed with the quality and detail of the creation!  Also, the detail that is put into creating the creation!  You can change the color of everything!!  If you want green eyes, have green eyes!  Need a black tail, spin your animal around and give it a black tail!  Want a sweet little kitty??  You can create the purrfect little kitty.  How about a freaky alien?  Add three eyes and pincher hands.  This is super fun!!  Go and create a frend of your own!  Remember Happy Toy Machine for your favorite niece, nephew, grand-kid or your kid!  Who ever it is for will not only love receiving it, but will love creating it too!

Perfect Clothing for Every Body! {Yummie Tummie Review & Giveaway}

I have been on a major de-clutter rampage since the New Year. Let me tell you, I actually found a pair of jeans in my closet from high school…old, tattered, and way too small. Doing all this cleaning and sorting made me realize just how desperately I need to work on my wardrobe; collecting beautiful, age appropriate pieces that can be worn for many occasions. I saw Yummie Tummie on the Nate Berkus show one day and was an instant fan. Beautiful clothing, made to enhance the female figure, and age appropriate without being “mom clothes”. JACKPOT!!!

I felt immensely lucky to be able to choose a piece from the Yummie Tummie line. They carry everything from shapewear to be worn under your clothing to stylish and quality clothing with shaping built right in. I really had a hard time choosing my favorite, as everything is so wonderful, but as soon as I saw the Mid Rise Skinny Leg jeans in grey, I knew they were meant for me! In the description of these innovative jeans it states that they hold their shape with no bagging. They also have a perfect rise in front and back with ingenious stitching that lifts {& lord knows I need a little lift!}. I am a tall woman, 5 foot 10ish, so you don’t even know the excitement I felt when I saw the inseam was 33″. I find most jeans are 32″ and they always end up being a tad too short for my taste, especially after washing! So simple to tailor a pair of jeans if you are shorter, but almost impossible to make them longer. So, thank you Yummie Tummie for thinking of us tall girls! I am currently between sizes and ordered the smaller of the two, hoping to be there shortly. My jeans arrived and as I expected were a bit snug, so I really feel that the sizing is spot on. When I tried them on I immediately noticed the soft feel of the denim, and nice stretch in the jeans. Even a bit snug, they are comfortable and have quickly become a favorite staple in my wardrobe! I am looking forward to adding a a few more pieces from Yummie Tummie to my wardrobe. Yummie Tummie clothing is a bit on the pricey side, but as I get older I don’t mind paying a bit more for high quality clothing that is going to last and make me look and feel amazing! Next on my list…saving my pennies for the Lo Scoop Neck Dress!!

Big fashion for little girls! {Hudson Threads Review}

It is no secret that my girl and I love clothes and fashion! I love dressing her and she loves playing dress up! Lately she has developed quite an opinion as to what she wants to wear every day, especially to school. I knew this day would come, I just didn’t know how soon!! It was so much fun choosing an adorable outfit for Ava from Hudson Threads! Their fall line is darling and sophisticated; full of amazing coordinates and styles. She just “oohed” and “aahed” over the different dresses and designs; I’m pretty sure she wanted them all! We eventually narrowed down the choices and decided on the Alana Top with the Alex Skirt; pink, black, with a bit of tan…and don’t forget the sassy little ruffle accent along the edge of the skirt!  When it arrived in the mail we immediately tried it on! Perfect fit and looks amazing! The material is soft and stretchy and even though it is a dressy little outfit, Ava is still able to run and play when wearing it {and most definitely spin and dance…which is what she did the first ten minutes she wore it!}! The entire outfit is put together so well and is definitely meant to last! High quality, beautiful design, and cozy fabric is what you get with Hudson Threads! Ava has been dying to wear her new little ensemble to school, but we are still a little warm here in Texas. We actually had a day last week in the 100′s, so it is most definitely not long sleeve weather down here. I have to admit, I’ve been swooning over hand stamped jewelry for quite a while now. I think the simple and elegant designs are the features that really attract me to that specific style. The hand stamped jewelry designs that I offer are hand made by me. They are all carved and casted and I use only high quality Argentium Sterling Silver in all the casted pieces that I make. It is the most tarnish resistant sterling silver available. jadJoseph Allen Designs has created so many beautiful pieces, that it made it a bit tough narrowing down my favorite to just one. I eventually decided on the elegant Forever Circle necklace with a satin finish. It just really jumped out at me as the most “me”. I had them add two pearls {representing both of my children} and then a sweet little stamp of the words “choose joy”. A constant reminder to always look for the good and choose to be joyful no matter what. That is how I wish to lead my life and the example I want to set each day for my little children. When it arrived in the mail, packaged in a sweet box, complete with a matching bow, I was ecstatic and blown away by every detail of this stunning necklace. It truly is high quality and a great piece to have. I immediately put it on and haven’t taken it off since! I have received so many compliments from family to friends; even total strangers. To say that I love wearing this necklace is an understatement. It is simple, unique, and truly gorgeous. A piece of jewelry from Joseph Allen Designs would most definitely be an amazing gift!
