Perfect Clothing for Every Body! {Yummie Tummie Review & Giveaway}

I have been on a major de-clutter rampage since the New Year. Let me tell you, I actually found a pair of jeans in my closet from high school…old, tattered, and way too small. Doing all this cleaning and sorting made me realize just how desperately I need to work on my wardrobe; collecting beautiful, age appropriate pieces that can be worn for many occasions. I saw Yummie Tummie on the Nate Berkus show one day and was an instant fan. Beautiful clothing, made to enhance the female figure, and age appropriate without being “mom clothes”. JACKPOT!!!

I felt immensely lucky to be able to choose a piece from the Yummie Tummie line. They carry everything from shapewear to be worn under your clothing to stylish and quality clothing with shaping built right in. I really had a hard time choosing my favorite, as everything is so wonderful, but as soon as I saw the Mid Rise Skinny Leg jeans in grey, I knew they were meant for me! In the description of these innovative jeans it states that they hold their shape with no bagging. They also have a perfect rise in front and back with ingenious stitching that lifts {& lord knows I need a little lift!}. I am a tall woman, 5 foot 10ish, so you don’t even know the excitement I felt when I saw the inseam was 33″. I find most jeans are 32″ and they always end up being a tad too short for my taste, especially after washing! So simple to tailor a pair of jeans if you are shorter, but almost impossible to make them longer. So, thank you Yummie Tummie for thinking of us tall girls! I am currently between sizes and ordered the smaller of the two, hoping to be there shortly. My jeans arrived and as I expected were a bit snug, so I really feel that the sizing is spot on. When I tried them on I immediately noticed the soft feel of the denim, and nice stretch in the jeans. Even a bit snug, they are comfortable and have quickly become a favorite staple in my wardrobe! I am looking forward to adding a a few more pieces from Yummie Tummie to my wardrobe. Yummie Tummie clothing is a bit on the pricey side, but as I get older I don’t mind paying a bit more for high quality clothing that is going to last and make me look and feel amazing! Next on my list…saving my pennies for the Lo Scoop Neck Dress!!

Making School Uniforms Look Good! {French Toast Review and Giveaway}

Just over 3 years ago, I enrolled my kids in a Charter school.  Hailee was in 2nd grade and April and Austin were in kindergarten.  There were so many aspects to this school that I was super excited about, it was brand new, had leveled learning, and had a school uniform.  There were a few things that Hailee was not looking forward to, leaving her old school, leaving her friends and wearing a school uniform.  What was a major plus for me was not a major plus for her. Since she had been in a “regular” school for a couple of years, she was used to wearing whatever she wanted to school and knew that it was going to be quite and adjustment for this little fashionista to wear practically the same thing to school every day.  When I heard about French Toast, I immediately placed my order! We live in a small-er town and pretty much our only shopping is Walmart, or we drive 45 minutes to the nearest mall. Therefore, I love me some online shoppin!!  This is a picture of one the first uniforms we got from French Toast (3 years ago).  I fell in love with French Toast from the moment my first package came in the mail.  I was super impressed with the quality of every item we got!  My kids wear polo style shirts everyday.  If you have ever gotten the Walmart ones, you would know that after a few wears, they have a hard time coming clean.  Our French Toast ones were not only CHEAPER then the Walmart ones, but a much better quality.  They wash/wear really nice!   My kids have been wearing the French Toast brand for the last 3 years and besides out growing their clothes, there hasn’t been a single issue with them :)

When I got the opportunity to review French Toast, I jumped on it!  I was super excited to try their sweaters!  We have ordered pants, skirts, shorts and polo’s in the past….just never a sweater!  This year, the school went SUPER strict of dress code and said they could only wear navy sweaters, where in the past they had been able to wear navy, white or yellow.  Have you ever looked for a CUTE navy sweater with nothing on it?!  Not all that easy to find…unless you are on French Toast!  Hailee, my needs to look “super” cute everyday girl, got the Cable Front Cardigan.  April needs to be comfy (and cute) so she went with the Pom-Pom Zip Up Sweater. Austin, he could careless.  He is going to wear the first thing hanging in his closet, so I picked the Zip Front Sweater for him.  In less then a week, I had sweaters being delivered to my house.  All three were thrilled…even Austin!  They love wearing them, not only because they are super cute, but they are comfy and warm.  We are in Utah, and things get COLD here, so that is a big deal!  Another big deal (according to Hailee) is that she can’t have the same clothes as everyone else.  French Toast has SO many different items that you are sure to get something that is perfect for your kids that will make them stand out…as much as you can stand out in a uniform.  I am all for my kids wearing a uniform, but I do want them to be themselves.  When we shop at French toast, they can pick things that still fall into the uniform category, but show a little bit of personality as well.

Holiday Glamour {Teri Jon Review}

I can remember in high school going to pick out a fancy dress for dances.  I felt like a princess when I finally found “the one.”  I couldn’t wait to wear it and I was sad when the night was over.  I mean heaven forbid you wear the same dress twice.  The bummer part was, when would I wear it again?

As I got older I met a man who is very involved in the community.  We go to galas, balls, and fundraisers.  Suddenly I have use for those high school dresses.  The only problem is, some don’t fit as wonderfully as they did in high school, dang it!  Therefore I have spent time at the dress store trying to find “the one.”  Unfortunately, find the perfect dress isn’t as easy as it was in high school.  I don’t want to look like I am trying to be in high school and I don’t want to look like I am a grandmother.  I just want to look like a hot, trendy, twenty-something year old.

I was utterly thrilled when Teri Jon gave me the opportunity to review two of their products.  Talk about being a lucky lady.  I received the Navy Taffeta Flowered Dress. This dress is so fancy, trendy, and funky I can hardly wait to have this baby so I can get dressed up and go out on the town in it.  It has the most wonderful asymmetrical neckline.  I feel like it draws up to my face by showing just a pop of skin.  The “side ruffle elongates the torso and adds an extra touch of elegance.”  It has a cute litte skinny belt with a rhinestone buckle for a little bling and extra fanciness.  This belt pulls in the waist to help give an hourglass shape.  The full, pleated, knee length skirt adds to the trendiness and glamor of the whole piece.  This is the “perfect dress for a size 2 through a size 16.”  Isn’t the best!?

Teri Jon also gave me the chance to review the Black Feather Cardigan.  This is the fanciest black cardigan I have ever seen!  It is also available in a grey.  “The feathers add another dimension to your standard cardigan, making it the perfect sweater for both day and night.”  Plus doesn’t it scream glitzy holiday party!? “For your work look, wear the cardigan open over a matching shell with any of your favorite work pants or skirts. To dress it up for night, wear it over a black dress with a pair of bright tights and heels; or pair it with a high-waisted patterned skirt and your favorite black boots – either way you are sure to stand out and look fabulous.”  My favorite thing about this sweater it is super soft.  Even with the feathers on it!

Wow. That was about all I could say when I first saw the Rickie Freeman for Teri Jon website. I mean, really, it is pretty much packed with amazing clothing, especially dresses for all sorts of occasions.  I found so many gorgeous dresses, ones I would love to have in my closet! I was really drawn to the dresses that could be worn casually and then also dressed up for a night out on the town with girlfriends or a hot date with the husband! Those are the dresses I find I get the most wear out of and best suit my lifestyle. Rickie Freeman for Teri Jon generously sent me their Navy Taffeta Flowered Dress and a Black Feathered Cardigan. The Navy Taffeta Dress is a fancy little number complete with flowers and cute belt accented with crystals. It is beautifully made and would be perfect for the right occasion and person. It has a vintage flair and the asymmetric neckline and modest length are two things I really like about the dress. However, the flowers and taffeta make it a bit too fancy for me.
I wasn’t quite sure about the Feathered Cardigan at first, it is so different from anything I have ever worn. Well, it’s unique look has quickly grown on me and I can’t wait to wear it throughout the holiday season! The wispy feathers and sequin accents really add dimension and fun to this beautifully made couture cardigan; it would most definitely make a great holiday party sweater but can also easily be worn casually during the day or out for the evening. It has that dressed up or dressed down option that I love!  

Ava adores it, too and keeps asking me to get one for her! She is a feather nut! A gorgeous new dress from Rickie Freeman for Teri Jon would make any woman feel extra special this holiday season!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I remember hearing that often when I was growing up.  My dad was into auctions, antiquing, and yard sales long before they were “cool”, and watching him select treasures for their tiniest and finest details, will linger in my mind for the rest of my life.  When I look for a quality piece of clothing, furniture, or art, I am looking for those distinctive details.  Teri Jon is a company noted to sell “dazzling affordable luxury apparel” and their website definitely proves to have many lovely dresses and coordinates, so imagine my excitement when they said they were going to send me one of their pieces!  Along with my fellow RMRV moms, I received the Navy Taffeta Flowered dress.  I will be honest, as a classically simple gal, I was a bit taken aback by the choice of large flower and draping on the left side.  Being a bit smaller framed, my hubby thought it kinda swallowed me up!  Perhaps a little much to wear to a Christmas dinner where I come :)   Despite the style, the dress is well made of quality taffeta, has a flattering shape that would appeal to a variety of sizes, and comes in navy (a very “in” color). Even the tiniest details were thought of in the tiny crystals on the belt buckle.  Every women should have at least one beautiful go-to piece to wear for a fabulous evening out………..check out Ricki Freeman for Teri Jon to discover which piece that will be for you!

Ooo La La! {Hobo International Review}

I love accessories!  I especially love fancy accessories!!  They make me feel sassy and classy.  It is a nice feeling to feel a little different than the everyday normal feeling.  But what if you could have a fancy accessory that you could use every day!!??  I could go for feeling fancy every day…especially in my pregnancy.

Hobo International is just the place for every day fanciness.  In 1991, Toni Ray sat down at her Annapolis, Maryland dining room table and designed the first Hobo handbags.  She felt like women’s accessories should be both stylish and practical.  A few years later bight, bold, and funky colors were introduced and changed the face of accessories forever.  20 years later Hobo is still going strong and their products continue to fly off the shelves.

Hobo has something for every one.  You can find something for the practical woman, the fashionista, the outdoorsy lady, you name it!  Every lady can feel fancy.

Hobo sent me  the most amazing Tegan tri-fold wallet.  The leather is baby-bottom soft and the color is a beautiful metallic pearl which gives the leather a nice shine.  I am just in love with it!!  It haves decorative pleats and is like nothing else out there.  It has a double magnetic snap closure which holds it shut nicely.  The inside is just as fancy as the outside.  It is fully lined in glamorous graphic print fabric.  There are 9 credit card slots!  There is also an ID window…perfect for the “Can I see your ID moments?”  Just flip open and they can look all they want.  There are three bill pockets and an outside zip pocket.  This wallet is so fancy and cute sometimes I forgo the purse and just carry my wallet as a clutch.  I even took it as a clutch to a fancy dinner.  Even though it is fancy, it certainly isn’t too fancy to whip out at the grocery store.  I can’t say it enough I love Love LOVE Hobo and this wallet!

Stylin this Christmas! {HADDAD Brands Review}

Ever heard of a little brand called Nike? Or Levi’s? What about Converse?  If you haven’t heard of them you must have lived in a box in a dark basement for the last few decades…these guys are BIG!   Haddad Brands is an incredible company with even more incredible products!  These are clothes that are going to last a LONG time, not your “disposable clothes” that so many companies have gone to.

I remember the Levis brand and Nike brand growing up. If you sported this logo on your shirts or shoes you were definitely in style.  Today, these brands are still the top leader in the clothing industry and I know just why! Quality.  We had the opportunity to try out a few outfits and a jacket from Haddad’s sites and the quality is top notch. Quality stitching that I know will last through my little guys rough and tough playing.  My little guy loves his new outfits and he feels so cool in his basketball shorts just like his dads. Fabulous Faux Fur! {Great Holiday Gift Idea}

They are super cute and will keep you warm and toasty all winter long.  Plus, they are very fashionable.  From stripes to patterns there are endless possibilities.  There are so many options when it comes to Faux Fur. From womens & childrens coats, to purses and hats. You can even find Faux Fur rugs and pillows to accessorize your sofa or love seat.  I would love to get some pillows for my sofa and even a throw to snuggle up in on those cold winter nights.  Not only would it be warm and soft, but it would make a WOW statement in my family room or bedroom.

Hollis is in desperate need of a some winter clothing. It seems he has had a major growth spurt recently and shirts are showing his tummy and pants are a bit too short! I was thrilled to have the opportunity to choose a long sleeved t-shirt from Me Giant for my boy! He is a dinosaur lover, so I knew instantly to get him the Ribbit Ribbit says the Dinosaur Kids T-Shirt. It arrived sweetly packaged in the signature Chirp Daddy Lunchbox, which adds such a fun touch to this delivery! Hollis immediately wanted his new dinosaur shirt on and has worn it so many times since it arrived! He has put his Chirp Daddy Lunchbox to good use as well, as he uses it to carry around his most prized collection; his cars! The Ribbit Ribbit says the Dinosaur Kids T-Shirt is super soft and has washed very well. I would love to add a few more of these cute and funny t’s to both of my kiddos wardrobes; with both short and long sleeve options, they are perfect for all seasons! Me Giant T-shirts definitely make for a cute top and Hollis’ Ribbit Ribbit says the Dinosaur shirt gets some fun reactions when we are out running around! He has received several compliments on his new shirt and he is oh-so proud!
