You know how when you go to a movie, you have in your head whether or not you are going to like it. It usually ends up the way you thought…if you go thinking you will hate it, you will hate it. That is what was so fun about Man on a Ledge. I didn’t know much about it before I went so I couldn’t pre-judge. All I knew was it was a “cop” movie. I had originally wanted to take my hubby with me to see it (since it was his kind of movie) but then I watched CSI with him and he kept telling me “They wouldn’t really do that.” “That would take a lot longer then that.” Ruined the whole thing. So I was a little relieved when he ended up not being able to go, so a girlfriend went with me. Both of us were a little worried that it was going to be a movie that made us worry for our hubby’s lives (both of our hubby’s are cops).
“An NYPD hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) attempts to talk cop-turned-fugitive Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) down from a high ledge, but she learns that
he may have a hidden motive for threatening to take his own life. A priceless diamond has been stolen, and the thieves responsible are using Nick as their scapegoat. An escaped convict with nowhere to run, Nick realizes that no one will believe he is innocent, and he decides to take extreme measures in order to expose the men who set him up. Stepping out on a ledge 25 stories above the bustling concrete streets of New York City, the notorious fugitive quickly becomes a media sensation as the entire world watches, awaiting his next move. Meanwhile, Nick’s loyal brother races to help clear his sibling’s name and ensure that the guilty pay for their crimes before the situation ends in tragedy. ”
You may ask, how exciting can a movie be based on a man standing on a ledge?! Believe it or not, it is VERY exciting. The story is great, I understood it (which I sometimes have a hard time doing in “guy” movies), and it wasn’t ….a few bad words and a kiss or two and one panty scene was all! In all honesty, it was one of the best movies I have seen in a really long time. I really liked it! The acting was great, story was believable, and by the end I couldn’t believe that I had sat in the theater for over an hour and a half. It is a MUST see!! Fantastic!! It comes to theaters near you starting today, January 27, 2012.

Christmas shopping is in full swing and I am working my way down the list and crossing off each name feels so good! I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am just ready to get those gifts wrapped and under the tree. One of the gifts I love giving, to family and friends of all ages, is an iTunes gift card! It seems everyone has some sort of electronic to play these wonderful apps, music, games, etc and a gift card is a perfect treat! Then it’s up to the individual to decide what is the perfect gift for them self. Makes things super simple and every super happy! A new App we have discovered and fallen in love with is the new Disney learning app:
