Spring is in the air. It is still raining a lot here in my neck of the woods, but the weather is finally getting warmer. This is totally crazy, but the other day I was thinking about the Disney movie “Bambi.” Do you remember after his Mother gets shot disappears, then the next thing you know it’s Spring and the flowers are blooming, and suddenly all his friends are in love? Thumper meets “Miss Thaang” and goes crazy, Flower meets “Cupcake” and is suddenly being led around by the nose… you get where I’m going with this?? ;-) When I was a kid I just thought they were “in love.”…. which is what you are supposed to think as kids, right? But us “wise old owls” know know what that really is…. Spring Fever!!  Birds and the Bees, Gettin’ Frisky…. what ever name you call it, you know what I’m talkin’ about! Hot Mama- Part Deux (Zaggora CapriFlares reivew} #hotinhotpants

 

Here we are at the end of March. I don’t know about you, but the year is already racing along! Spring is just around the corner, at least here in my area, but my mind is already looking months ahead for summer. I always kind of consider Spring the “get ready” season. Get ready for summer and swimsuits and shorts and less clothing! This summer I am going to be doing baby swim classes with my little munchkin, so I plan to be spending quite a bit of time at the pool. And you know what that means… wanting to look good in that swimsuit! Now, if you are like me, you are always happy to have ANY advantage against the battle of the (mommy) belly bulge. If you remember a few months ago, I talked about a “secret weapon” I was using to get ready for holiday parties and my trip to Mexico. You can read about that here. I am excited to share that Zaggora, the same great company that introduced me to Hot Pants…aka, my secret weapon, has come out with some new additions to their line of sweat inducing, cellulite burning, thigh, tummy and hip sculpting pants. They are Flares and Capri Flares. I was generously given my choice of the two to try and I went with the Capri Flares.  Zaggora is based in England and hit the market this past July. Their products are designed to help you loose inches and also to decrease the appearance of cellulite. There is a 2 week challenge that the company issues to all who get these.  Lose 2 jean sizes in 2 weeks, doing the same routine, eating the same diet but wearing the product while you work out. Here’s the scoop on how these Hot babies work!

Now for the disclaimer: This next part will be brutally honest! (Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!) :-)

Knowing how Hot Pants work, I was super excited to get these babies on and get moving. I had some surgery in January, which put me out for about 6 weeks. As a result, I lost a little bit of the results I worked so hard for before a trip to Mexico in January. A little softer in the tummy, a couple pounds, a little more top on the muffin… ya know what I mean? I have been aching to get rid of all that, so this was just the ticket to get me really movin’ again! I love the fit of the Capri Flares. They come up high on the tummy, so that gets included too, and hit just above mid-calf. The first time I worked out in them, boy…. If I was sweatin’ before, it was nothing to this. It was literally running down my legs into my shoes! (I warned you!) Now, for some of you, sweat may be about the grossest thing in the world.  But I have just come to accept it as the price for a great workout and even better results! Just be prepared to sweat!… A LOT…. Nuff said!! :-) I didn’t change my eating habits at all, and I worked out 4 days the first week and 5 days the second week. I wore them from morning to before bed, through the workout, then put on my other Hot Pants while I washed the Capri Flares. These pants are special, kind of like wetsuit material, so they must be washed on the hand wash cycle and dried without heat. After two weeks of wearing them, here are the results: I’m down 1.25″ in my hips and 1″ in my waist. I didn’t loose anything on my thighs, but I didn’t gain anything back from before. (I kept my measurements from the previous time!) And if that isn’t enough, I have a pair of jeans that were fitting great before the surgery but were getting tight again. :-( I tried them on the day I started the challenge, yes they were t-i-g-h-t, and then tried them on again this morning… HOORAY! They are have some room in them again! (And NO! I hadn’t washed them right before I tried them on the first time!):-)  I am so excited! Now, results do vary, but I am so happy and I know they will work for you! These are my honest opinions. I didn’t receive any compensation from the company, other than the Capri Flares. A New Favorite {Timmy Time DVD Review}

I thought we had seen every cartoon known to man.  I was wrong!  Ever heard of Timmy Time?  It is on Disney’s Junior Channel (which we don’t have-so I have an excuse).  It is made by the producers of Wallace and Gromit and Shawn the Sheep.  It has that same kind of animation…looks kinda clay-mation to me.  The DVD we go to check out is called Timmy Finds Treasure.

Zero in on your fitness goals {Zero scale review}

 

Christmas is right around the corner. The holiday goodies have started piling up. At my parents house, we have what we fondly refer to as “the table of sin!” It is where all the yummies from neighbors and my parents clients get piled for everyone to enjoy. Add to that the fact that my family has an absolute killer fudge recipe that we make every year which gets added to the holiday goodness. Along with the goodies also come the wonderful festive meals and parties too! It’s enough to make a girl want to just throw up her hands and say “To heck with it all! I’ll live in stretchy pants until new years!”  :-) Unfortunately, I don’t have that luxury this year. We are planning a trip to Mexico in January, so I need to be able to get into my swimsuit and not feel like a whale at the beach. I have a game plan for how I’m going to navigate all the “food landmines” this year. One includes making sure I keep exercising regularly while I’m on vacation. Oh… We’ll be spending the 2 weeks before Mexico at my parents house, out of town, which adds to the challenge of exercising away from home. I’m either going to just cave and spend too much $$ on a pass to the local gym or I’m going to tote all my stuff with me and do it at the parents house. I’m quite determined! We have reached the toddler stage at my house! You know… the stage where meal time can sometimes almost be a battle zone. The stage where more food is sometimes on the floor or on the clothes than in the mouth… not to mention the stuff that also comes back out of the mouth! A Sweet Tweet {Your Bird Oasis Review and Giveaway}

Gorgeous and Green {The Ultimate Green Store $25 GC Giveaway}

There are many things that I am practically BFF’s with…chocolate, shoes, pedicures, etc.  One of my favorite best friends is purses!  I am totally a purse girl…I especially love medium to large purses.  Although it can be a bit of a hassle to dig in the black hole looking for your lip gloss, I secretively enjoy it.

SOS (Save Our Seats) {Kooli Review}

As the summer goes on the cement gets warmer.  Normally that wouldn’t matter, but when you are sitting on it it does.  Picture this: It is a beautiful day and the kids want to play in the pool.  You have worked hard to get your body ready to show off and have spent hours buying just the right swimming suit.  You put it on, head out to the water, and enjoy the sun.  You start to feel too hot so you go to dangle your feet in the water.  OUCH!  That cement is hot.  Hurry, splash some water on it to cool it down.  Ick!  A soggy booty.  Oh well!  You are too hot to not sit with you legs in the cool water.  15 minutes later you hop up to get back on your lounge chair and you hear it: crrrrr….  DANG!  The cement just snagged my brand new bath suit.  Stupid!  Stupid, cement!!

Kooli to the rescue!!

If you read my recent post about Hapari, you would know that I have a new swimming suit that I am in love with.  You would also know that I am a bad friend because I won’t go shopping with you if you look better then me :)   Kooli is a suit saver!!  This little round disk is genius!  Being the super cheap lady I am, I want my cute suit to last as long as possible…I don’t need stupid snag-tush to ruin it!  That is just one reason I love this little gem! Another, I hate hot buns!  You know that burn and sting that comes with pool sitting??  GONE!  This is the cure to all of your pool bum issues!  GENIUS!  Only problem, I only have one!  All the ladies sitting around the pool were jealous of little slice of heaven that I sat on while the rest of them squirming in the sun!

Summer is sizzlin’……literally.  With temperatures reaching over 100 degrees everyday, its almost unbearable to go outside, but when we do, its off to the pool!   While my girls splash around, I put my Kooli on the coping and have a comfy place to dangle my legs without  getting all scratched up.  It is also nice for the kids to sit on when they are taking a quick break.  It prevents their suits from snagging, which means they might have a swimsuit or two that would last another season!  The neoprene is a great material.  We have several life jackets made of this, and they have lasted for years looking as good as the day we bought them.  Kooli is a simple, but fun product to enjoy sitting poolside.

There is nothing that drives me more crazy than spending money on a swimsuit and then having the bottom get all snagged due to sitting on the side of the pool. Seriously, drives me crazy and has ruined so many of my swimsuits! As soon as I heard about the Kooli I was so excited to get one and give it a try. It has worked out so well for us and is such a great addition to the pool bag! The Kooli is plenty big, a 16″ neoprene circle that you sit on poolside, and it works like a charm. No snagging & no hot concrete, so nice. I love how it rolls up so well for easy storage and is so simple to toss in a bag and take on the go! The Kooli has most definitely be saving my booty this summer at the pool!!

I love swimsuit season. Especially when I find an adorable swimsuit that I love. You know one that fits perfectly and is super cute on? I am sure you have all found one that you adore. What I hate about swimsuit season is swimsuit snag! Ugh! You know when you climb out of the pool or hot tub and sit on the edge of it, and your swimsuit gets little snags in it? That’s the worst. Too many summers I have had swimsuits ruined by the pool cement. Not anymore! Kooli to the rescue. Kooli sent me a black Kooli to test out at the local pool. I threw it in my swim bag and away we went for a day of fun in the sun. I pulled it out and sat along the edge of the pool for hours. It also dried out very quickly since it’s pretty thin. It was so nice to have and it fits easily in any size bag. Now, I leave it in my swim bag permanently so I never have to worry about the dreaded snagging of my cute summer suit! Thanks Kooli.

I don’t get to go to the pool much since I am a working woman but when I do I don’t want to ruin my suit from sitting on the pool edge.  I worked hard for that suit and cement is not going to ruin that for me.  Up until I learned about Kooli I had given up sitting poolside.  Now I can again and not worry about what will happen when I stand up.  The Kooli can withstand chlorine without fading keeping it looking nice from summer to summer.  It just rolls up and fits right in my pool bag.  Perfect!  Thanks for saving my suit and bringing back poolside sitting Kooli!

An “artist” stool for sidewalk-chalk masterpieces (keeps your bum cool and your pants clean)

Diaper changing pad (it is easy to wash off)

Sitting on the grass or park bench (keep the dew off of you so you don’t stand up with a wet spot)

Picnic placemats (just rinse clean)

Markers for kids games such as Duck, Duck Goose and relay races (small, lightweight, and easy to carry)
