Winter is in full swing! Naturally Clean {Clorox Green Works review}

I love the feeling of a sparkling clean house. I love how calming the effect is, how clean it smells, but unfortunately not how long it stays clean. With a toddler ruling the roost, it seems that the clean house feeling lasts… until he wakes up from his nap, which is usually when I get to clean. Keep Talkin’ Oh Keep Talkin’ {Greased Lightning Multipurpose review}

I will be the first person to admit I don’t like to clean my own house. Some people enjoy cleaning, find it therapeutic, a time for thinking, whatever… Not me! I will say though that if I get good and mad at my Hubby, I tend to go into a cleaning frenzy! We don’t get too upset at each other though, so my house doesn’t get that fringe benefit very often! I think part of my problem may be that I have never found products that actually make cleaning easy. Cleaning? Easy? More like endless hours scrubbing stuff that never seems to come all the way off… like the grime that gets caught in the microwave vents? Ya’ll know what I’m talking about?? Well, my life was recently changed. I discovered Greased Lightning Orange Blast back in the summer. I threw all my kitchen woes at it and it worked like a dream. Caked on kitchen grime begone!! It practically wiped off!! Well, knowing how well that G.L worked, I jumped at the chance to try Greased Lightning multipurpose! I am getting my house ready to be gone for three weeks, and Saturday was bathroom day. I grabbed my G.L. and off I went. The bottle says it can:

Cut through grime on stove vents, ovens and microwaves.
Remove red wine, pet stains and dirt from everyday traffic on carpets.
Use as a laundry pretreat for tough stains including grease, grass and ink.
Tackle soap scum and mildew stains in the shower.
Revitalize patio furniture by removing dirt and outdoor debris.

I decided to see how it stacks up in the bathroom. I was very impressed. I used it to clean my sinks and floors… yes… it took the hairspray residue that tends to buildup on the floor right off! It shined my chrome and cleaned effortlessly. I even used it to clean my tub and it made the “tub ring” that I hadn’t even noticed until right before I cleaned it disappear! Very, very impressive! It would make a great addition to have in your arsenal to tackle all those messes that come with the holidays! It would even make a great white elephant gift too!! I haven’t had a chance to try it for other things yet, but I read through some of the testimonials from other users and here’s what they are saying! It took lipstick out of whites that had already been washed AND dried in the dryer! Now that is impressive!! I will definitely be adding this to my arsenal of cleaning products… it may well replace most of my other things! Although I am not fond of the time it takes to clean, I do like things clean and tidy. Maintaining the shower is probably my biggest enemy. It seems like I clean, and before I can blink, mildew re-appears. I couldn’t wait to see what Tile Doctor was all about. Mirror, Mirror on the wall… who is the fairest one of all? {Windex review}

Who loves the feeling of a just cleaned house?? Me!! I usually do my mirrors last because it seems like that is the finishing touch to make everything just right! I’ve always been a fan of Windex original glass cleaner. I have been using it for years! My favorite way to use it is on my mirror with wads of newspaper… don’t know where I learned that trick, but I swear it leaves your mirrors absolutely perfect!! Something I’d never considered though was that there are so many other ways to use Windex. Did you know it can be used on bathroom chrome fixtures? It makes sense but I’d never thought of it! There are so many ways to use it. A few other ones include: marble, granite, plastic, vinyl and aluminum.

I recently tried this out. I’m not gonna lie, when I sprayed it, I leaned in to see if I detected a vinegar scent. I love how well vinegar works as a cleaner, but DO NOT like the lingering smell. I can’t tell you how annoyed I get with all the finger grime on my electronic tablet, or the finger AND makeup grime that coats my smartphone! (Yuk!) Well… those are a thing of the past! I have to admit something to you all. I am a sucker for infomercials. I will be flipping through the channels and land on some super cool looking gadget or product. It doesn’t take long and a half hour or hour has passed and I just want to buy it! Anyone else relate?

I decided to test out this new steam mop on my dirty kitchen floor. You mean I am suppose to mop it weekly?!? Yikes. I am lucky if I can even find time to pick up the food the kids drop on the floor. I pulled out the mop and went to work. First off, I love that you only use water in it! No chemicals or soaps at all. Just water! Ordinary tap water does the trick. I put the microfiber cloth on the head and went to work. The cord was long enough to follow me around my entire kitchen, and I loved that I didn’t have to bend over or scrub at all. Conquering Mt. Laundry {Sort-a-neat review with giveaway}

If you are like me, laundry is one of those things that gets pushed to the side…. and then pushed again, and then again. I have no problem actually washing it. It’s the folding and putting away of said mountain of clean clothes that gets pushed aside. I even tell myself that I will sit down (while my little peanut is napping) and indulge in one of my recoreded silly shows and fold. Half the time I sit down to watch and then don’t fold and put away anything! Sadly it’s not uncommon for us to go diving in the clean basket until it’s time to wash all over again… yeah… my goal is to wash AND fold as I go! Perhaps one day….

Well, I ran across something that just might be the solution, or at least a good helper in conquering the battle of clean clothes! The sort-a-neat is a sectioned laundry bag that fits pretty much any laundry basket and is sectioned so you can organize your clean clothes and keep them neatly folded! I can’t tell you how annoyed I get when the piles fall once they are in the basket and all my hard work is wasted! (Yeah.. I know… folding is a tough job but someone’s got to do it!) The sort-a-neat also has a great, roomy drawstring at the top so you can close the whole thing up once you’re done and carry it without the basket! You can pile your laundry high above the rim of your basket yet it all stays secure! You can even carry a closed bag one handed up the stairs so you have another hand free for something else! Even better, a full bag holds it’s shape outside the basket when open for ease in putting your laundry away. This is great for people like me who have dirty laundry waiting to go back in the basket while there is clean laundry still needing to be put away!

A great idea is to have one for each of your kids, then fill their sort-a-neats with their clean clothes, then send them to their room with their bags on their shoulders and have them put their own laundry away. It is also a great idea for college kids! I can tell you, this may not solve the problem of actually getting the folding done, but definitely helps with the organizing and putting away. Green is Good! {Green Works Review}

Confessional #2: I don’t love to clean. Don’t get me wrong, I still do it, I just don’t love doing it. I am not one of those people who has an immaculate house. I don’t spends hours upon hours a day cleaning. My husband wishes I did, but with four kids, work, softball, football and dance classes I simply just don’t have the time, or the desire. Therefore, anything I can do to make cleaning faster or easier, I am in!! I hate to do things twice. If I wash the clothes, (which I don’t because I have the best hubby in the world who does ALL of the laundry) but if I did, I would want them to come out clean the first time.

Green Works not only make products that are incredibly powerful, but they are also safe. If you’re expecting or have kids, you may not want all of the chemicals in your house. “Clean with the Power of Mother Nature. We received a few different products to try. First, the cleaning wipes. I am a strong believer that children should have chores. My children rotate between cleaning 2 of our 3 bathrooms. I have, in the past, had to do a lot of the cleaning and wiping for them because of the chemicals in the cleaners. They were able to use these wipes and did a great job with them.

We also received a few laundry products including liquid laundry detergent, chlorine-free bleach, and oxi stain remover. Like I said, my hubby does all of the laundry, so I asked him what he thought of these products. He said, “Well, everything came out clean.” Obviously, that is what you want when you do laundry, but it doesn’t always happen that way. So when everything came out clean, no second wash needed, that is great! Plus, it has such a wonderful clean scent. The chlorine-free bleach is a perfect way to get those those tough stains out of whites and colors. Yes, I said colors! That makes this an accident free bleach! The oxi stain remover is a new must have in our home. My kids wear a uniform to school. Part of that uniform is a white polo shirt. I am sure the person who made this dress code doesn’t have kids, cuz if they did white would not have been their first choice. Kids just can’t keep it clean. Mine regularly come home with lunch dripped here or there. With my lack of time, I make a quick paste of the oxi stain remover and water and slap it on the spots. It then sits until laundry day rolls around and their dad finishes my job. I was shocked when I saw a shirt that I was sure was doomed come out perfectly clean. Amazing!

These products are wonderful. I wouldn’t have thought a “natural” product could stand up to the products that I have used in the past. I am not sure why I thought all of the chemicals and dyes made them better, but they don’t. Without them, they are safer. With children, safe is what I need!
