putting a new cwist on life mc

My kids love school, most of the time.  They like to learn and then share what they have learned with us.  April likes to get the “Weird But True” books and share the ODD knowledge that she has learned from them.  Even if the things she is learning aren’t all that useful, she is still learning and I love to see them learn.  Not only do I love to see them learn but even more, I love to see them enjoy learning.  They all do great when it comes to the hours of 8:00-3:30, but what happens when they get home?  There is TV, playing and computer games.  What if we can combine all 3 of those things and come up with one great website?!  CWIST is just that. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for CWIST. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

CWIST is a website that is full of fun and educational activities for kids.  All activities are kid appropriate and are labeled according to the age level that they are appropriate for.  I love that each activity is not only labeled, but has detailed directions and usually a video to go along with it to point your child in the right direction.

I had my kids do two different activities from the site.  Hailee chose the 12 Days of Christmas activity.  She started by watching the video (even though she was familiar with the song).  She followed all of the directions and used the included worksheet to find the desired answers.  She had fun, even though “this is like homework”.  She understood everything she was supposed to do, without any help.  The instructions and worksheet were easy to follow and were a great way to get into the holidays.

Austin picked the Lego Labyrinth.  He watched the “maze” video and got all excited to build his own maze.  He loves Lego’s and has never come up with this idea before–even better!!   Again, the instructions were very easy to follow and Austin ended up creating multiple mazes and never got bored with his project.  After he was done, he proudly showed off his project to his dad and wanted him to try out the maze.

Both kids loved that they could get online and find something fun (and different) to do.  They had a hard time picking which activity to do because there were so many fun things for them to choose from.  I was thrilled that they were spending their time doing something worthwhile.

I was very impressed with CWIST’s site.  Not only is it impressive…it’s FREE too!  Say what?!  Yeah, you can use all of the amazing programs and activities for nothing!  My kids loved using it and I loved seeing what they learned while being on CWIST.  Be sure you go check out the site, your kids will love it!
