Yesterday and today we are telling you about creative gift ideas for the moms in your life for this Mother’s Day. (Remember, Mother’s Day is May 11th!!) We introduced you to Epson and their amazing LabelWorks Kits yesterday. If you missed Erin and Amanda’s review of the Iron On and Safety Kit, go read Creative Gifting for Mother’s Day- 1 of 2. You won’t regret learning about these cool kits and what you can do with them!
Today we are telling you about 2 more Epson LabelWorks Kits that are sure to make great, unique, and interesting Mother’s Day presents.
Epson LabelWorks Printable Ribbon Kit
I received the Epson LabelWorks Printable Ribbon Kit. Crafters, listen up! This little buddy is for you. With this kit you can make customized ribbons!! Use these ribbons to attach to thank you presents or wedding or birthday favors. Create custom ribbons for scrapbooking or attach one to a personalized Christmas ornament. The options are endless and I know crafters could go crazy thinking up wonderful ideas of where and how to use this.
Included in this kit is an Epson LW-300 label printer (the same that was in Erin’s Iron On Label Kit) and two 1/2″ wide printable ribbon cartridges. Like the other kits, it too comes in a convenient carrying case. In this kit I received a gold on navy ribbon cartridge and a black on beige ribbon cartridge. Each cartridge has approximately 16′ of ribbon!! This label printer is compatible with the following tape varieties: Standard, Iron-on, Metallic, Reflective, Strong Adhesive, Glow-in-the-Dark, Pearlized and Clear. So don’t think that just because it is part of the Printable Ribbon Kit that it only prints on ribbon….nope!! This kit just provides what you would need to get started with ribbon printing.
I have a friend who’s baby shower is coming up so the first thing I used the Printable Ribbon Kit for was to make a customized ribbon to tie on her present. I just popped the batteries in, loaded the gold on navy ribbon cartridge, and started creating. I typed in my message, added some cute symbols, changed the font, and made the font narrow so more would fit in a smaller area. Then I decided that I wanted each section to be 12″ long but I wanted two sections together. 24″ of ribbon later I have a great customized ribbon to add something special to my friend’s first child baby shower! It took me a few minutes to figure out what I was doing but only because I didn’t want to screw up. It is really easy to use!
In fact it was so easy that I decided to make a ribbon to tie on my mother’s Mother’s Day present. After changing the ribbon cartridge to the black on beige I simply typed in my message, changed the font, and added a frame. The length and number of copies were saved from the previous project so press print and away we go! This ribbon turned out equally as cute! I like that there isn’t drying time so I didn’t have to worry about curious little hands wanting to figure out what was going on smudging my masterpiece.
This is such a fun little gadget to have. I LOVE that it is compatible with so many cartridges! I can’t wait to try the iron-on labels like Erin or the glow-in-the-dark or reflective tape like Amanda. (At first I was jealous of their cool labeling abilities…and then I learned I can be just as cool! 🙂 ) Separately this label printer sells for $39.99 and each ribbon cartridge is $19.99. When you buy the kit from the Epson site it is $69.99 so not only are you saving $10 but you are getting a carrying/storage case! Sounds like a great deal to me.
This LabelWorks Printable Ribbon Kit would make a great Mother’s Day present for the crafty mom, the present spoiling grandmother, or even the expecting mom. There is so much you can with this kit….not to mention everything you can do when you purchase more varieties of label cartridges!!
Epson LabelWorks Cable and Wiring Kit
Audrey, our Idaho mother of 2, received the Epson LabelWorks Cable and Wiring Kit to review. Here is what she had to say:
How do you guys deal with the clutter of all the cords that come with the wonderful technology of our day? My husband usually deals with all of it, but with lots of cords, it gets really confusing. Recently we had to have our modem replaced by the Internet company and I was the one home when they came. There were so many cords coming out of different places that all we could do was the good ol’ tug and see which cord moves trick…then we had to hold onto said cord and follow it down through the desk to where it came out, what a tricky maze. If I’d had what I have now my life would have been so much simpler. I was recently given the opportunity to try out Epson’s Label Works Cable & Wiring Label Kit. It makes organizing and labeling all those random cords sticking out everywhere a snap!
I had Hubby (and Peanut!) help out with this review since he’s the tech guy of the house. The kit is super simple to use. I was able to simply turn it on without reading anything and print out a label for my camera! But we did go through the manual to make sure we understood how many cool things it can do! It comes not only with the label printer itself, but there are 2 different size rolls of labels you can easily switch between (½”and ¾”). You can switch fonts and font size and add frames too. From flag type labels to wrap around to simply flat labels, you can get everything in your house named. You can also store up to 50 labels at a time, perfect if you need to ever need to reprint.
We had fun thinking of all kind of stuff to print. Peanut even got some “license plates” with his name on them for his cars! 🙂 And labeling wires and cords isn’t the only thing this kit is good for. It has tons of symbols you can use and is perfect for labeling boxes of stuff for storage, in the pantry, kid’s items, and anything else you can think of.
Mother’s day is coming up around the corner. This would be the perfect gift for that gal who loves to organize… it would also make an awesome gift for Dad’s in June! I love my Epson Cable & Wiring Kit. You can pick one up for $99.99.
Epson is really making Mother’s Day a breeze for us this year by putting together great kits. There is something for every mama!
