I love anything that helps my kiddos learn and is also fun for them! Peanut is going to be 4 in October, and although he is really good at his shapes, colors, etc, he still really enjoys playing with games that use shapes and such. Lady just turned 1 a couple of weeks ago, and I’m excited to watch her development in the coming months as she starts to discover the world of learning through play. I teamed up with an awesome company named Tiggly who are leading the way in combining digital learning with classic play for kids. They sent me their first product, Tiggly Shapes, which helps little ones learn about shapes and fundamental geometry concepts, improve their language skills, and develop their motor skills, spatial thinking, and creativity – all while having fun!
Lets face it, our kids will be digital masters! Lady has already learned how to swipe on my phone and loves carrying it around and pushing buttons! Unless you
live under a rock are fortunate enough to to have extremely limited technology in your home, kids are going to be immersed in technology! Tiggly is dedicated to bridging the gap between traditional technology and classic play for early learners ages 18 months – 4 years.
At Tiggly, we are on a mission to build the premier digital destination for early childhood play and learning. We design learning toys that interact with our playful apps to help kids grow in the most engaging way possible. We place high value on children’s thought and the learning involved in their play and the magic that happens in the integration of physical and digital play. ~Tiggly
Tiggly shapes are super easy to use and are extremely intuitive for kids to use. Made exclusively for iPad and iPad Mini, the shapes are inspired by classic wooden blocks but are made from easy to grip silicone that is safe for screens and soft on hands. There are 3 free apps that are downloadable from Tiggly. From there you simply unlock the apps using the shapes are you are off for hours of play. On a side note, you can also use the apps without the shapes for a different kind of fun, interactive play!
Tiggly Stamp: This fun app lets kids explore the seasons while creating their own scenes and stories. There is a fun Summer and Winter option. The child places one of the shapes on the screen and watches a fun character come to life. There is also a camera a voice recorder option so you can save art work and re listen to stories told! I LOVE the camera and voice recorder on this one!!
Tiggly Safari: Kids are able to create jungle animals using the shapes provided and also hear the sound the animal makes. It is pretty neat. For example: It will ask the child for a square, then, another square, then a triangle. All the while there is a fun animal noise being heard. Before you know it, an alligator appears! It is great because it’s fun for kids to guess what animal is going to appear!
Tiggly Draw: This one is Peanut’s favorite. Kids are able to create their own creatures using the shapes, but then can add silly eyes, ears mouths, and other fun stuff to make their own creatures, all the while while hearing funny sound effects! Then you can take a fun picture to save! 🙂
There is also a fun Tiggly Christmas app that is available in the app store for $1.99 that lets kids explore the magic of Christmas through the interactive shapes. This would make a great Christmas gift (thinking ahead!! 🙂 ) and would be fun to have the Christmas app as well! Tiggly Shapes retail for $29.95 and can be found online and on Amazon as well as select Apple stores nationwide.
