Sittin’ at the Counter! {Summer Infant Take Two Booster Seat Review + Giveaway}

We have a small kitchen. In fact there isn’t much room at all in it. We do however have a very long bar in our space and we sit on the bar stools a lot. The only problem with this is that my little one and a half year old can’t quite sit at the counter without me worrying that she might fall off the stool. Christina- D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s……that’s how I will describe the assortment of brownies Gourmet Gift Baskets offers. For 3 days straight last week I worked on flowers for a wedding ……as I hit evening number two, nearly exhausted, I decided to open the package I received from Gourmet Gift Baskets, hoping a snack awaited me that would keep me going. The Cheesecake Brownie seemed to be calling my name, so I gave it a try……..moist, gooey, chocolate and cream cheese delight!! I wish every brownie was a Gourmet Gift Baskets Cheesecake Brownie!! An assistant as well as family helped me out on Saturday morning before delivery, so I shared the other varieties with them. Each person raved about how yummy their brownie was, from Peanut Butter to White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, there wasn’t a crumb left anywhere. This brownie basket would be the perfect gift to send to someone who needs a little TLC (just not a diabetic or someone who’s watching their weight )!!

Amanda- I was super excited to get a sweet assortment of Gourmet Brownies from GourmetGiftBaskets.com! As I’m sure you have all figured out by now, I have quite the sweet tooth {as does most of my family!}. To say we enjoyed the delicious brownie sampling we received would be a total understatement! These brownies were AMAZING! My favorite was the Belgian Chocolate Chunk Brownie and I know my husband savored every bite of his Peanut Butter Brownie! These brownies are the perfect combo of soft, chewy, chocolatey goodness! They arrived fresh; like they had just been pulled out of the oven! One thing I really loved about the brownies is that they came individually packaged. I am the worst about baking a tray of brownies and nibbling on it throughout the day. Before I know it I’ve consumed a weeks worth of calories in a few hours and all that is left is crumbs. These brownies are two servings per package. I didn’t feel one ounce of guilt after eating my brownie. I knew it was an indulgence, but one I could allow in my daily calories and enjoy. We are huge fans of these yummy brownies from GourmetGiftBaskets.com; they would make a great gift for any occasion!

Crissa- I am a HUGE fan of desserts! I think I could live off of desserts alone. When I received this package I could hardly wait to dig in. I was headed to work so I grabbed the peanut butter brownie and added it to my dinner. Ooo la la! Talk about rich and tasty! I could have shared it with someone because it was so rich….like I would do that though! I ate half that night and the next day after lunch I finished it off. Sooo yummy! My brother saw the brownies sitting on the counter and asked which one I could part with because he would like to try one too. That was a tough decision. I let him have the cheesecake flavor. He ranted and raved about how delicious it was. After that I was not about to share anymore with anyone for fear I would miss out I have successfully eaten all the brownies minus one by myself. They were ALL so good! After much deliberation my favorite was the butterscotch blonde. Thanks GourmetGiftBaskets.com for letting me try these out! I will be ordering these in the future to give to my dessert loving friends and family.

Audrey- My, oh my! Did someone say brownies?! I think that is one of my favorite words in the dictionary! I LOVE brownies! I don’t know that I’ve ever met a brownie I didn’t like! When my box arrived, I was SOO excited! I opened it right up and found six kinds of brownies inside! With so many to choose from, I didn’t know where to start, so I chose the Peanut Butter… it kind of ended up being lunch that day! It was chocolate with little peanut butter chips on top! SO good! I really liked that the peanut butter wasn’t too overpowering (as it can sometimes be!) so the brownie taste could still shine through. Next up was the Cheesecake for dessert that night with the hubbs! It was beautiful! White decadent cheesecake layer on top drizzled with fudge icing! We split it, which was a good thing too because this one is RICH!! Neither of us could finish our halves! This is for SERIOUS sweet lovers! (My Dad would have LOVED this one!!) The next day I broke into the Butterscotch Blonde. I LOVE butterscotch and this blonde didn’t disappoint! It has butterscotch chips weaved throughout and really hit the sweet spot I was craving! This one is SUPER sweet, so be sure to have a big glass of milk on hand! My friend came over the next day and we split the Belgian Chocolate Chunk and the White Chocolate Macadamia nut! Both were soo good! The Belgian Chocolate Chunk had big chunks of chocolate on top and it was so goey and fudgy! This one was my favorite! The White Chocolate Macadamia Nut made me think of Hawaii! It had large chunks of macadamia nuts that paired so well with the the white chocolate chips! The Fudge Walnut I gave to my friend because I am allergic to walnuts, but I loved the look of the big golden walnuts studded on top and she said she really loved the fudgy texture and how many nuts there were! What a great idea for someone you want to say and special “Thank You” to, or maybe just someone who needs something special to brighten their day. I mean after all, who wouldn’t smile at a box of delicious, gourmet brownies?…I know I sure did!!

Erin- When you get home after the mail comes, you never know what you are going to find, what it looked like when it arrived, or if there will be anything left. Surprisingly when I received my box-o-brownies (possibly sent from heaven) I was SHOCKED that only one had been consumed…by whom?? My hubby! The one who knows better. Apparently it called his name, so it really isn’t his fault. Um hum. I was so excited to eat the 5 remaining browning, but I insisted on having dinner before tearing into them. We all ate as fast was we could so the sampling could begin. We cut them all into bite sized pieces so we could all give them each a try. If you want a really true delish brownie…go with the Fudge Walnut Brownie. Want something different and not so chocolaty? The Cheesecake one is to die for! My kids LOVED the Butterscotch Blondie…its more cookie bar (in my opinion). And Josh, he would be more then happy if he had a case of the Peanut Butter Brownie…I can’t give you my opinion on that one, since it was gone about 2 seconds after he opened the box. I never even saw it! The 5 that I did see were HEAVENLY!!

Family Game Night {Star Wars Pod Fighters Review and Bop-It XT Review and Giveaway}

If your kids are anything like mine, they LOVE to have family time. They like family dinner, movies but most of all…family game night. Ii will admit that it is sometimes hard to get motivated to play games with 4 kids. Like anything else, once I have gotten over the initial “hassle” of playing, we always have a fun time. We have a new addition to family game night…Bop-It! XT. This is such a fun, hand held game.

“It’s time to get moving. Can you keep up? When you turn it on, this totally cool Bop It game calls out commands. It’s up to you to “pull it”, “bop it”, “twist it” — or “flick it”, “spin it”, “shake it”! Can you keep up as the tempo revs?

Play Bop It! XT in party mode or solo — you can even plug in your headphones to keep the game all to yourself. Get it right and you can keep going, but if you get the moves wrong, your turn is up. Think you’ve got what it takes to beat it? Then, start the action!”

I love this game because you can play alone (practice ) or you can play with others. Everyone has their own form, way to hold it, and way to play. I hold it upside down and backwards and give it a good shake when I hear “shake it.” This is an easy enough game that my 4 year old can do it, not many times in a row, but it also is a good competition between my and my hubby! Super fun in a group!!

I feel like I am out of the loop when it comes to boys toys…this just proved my point! Austin was sent a single pack of Star Wars Fighter Pods.

His friend informed him of all of the other characters available and he came home making requests. “Can I get the box that is about this big with about 16 people in it and it cost $19.98″ Using his own money, he proudly purchased his big box. Now we have all kinds of these fun little guys and he STILL loves them. I wish there was a carrying case for them, though!

Storage and Safety {Butt Bench Review and Giveaway}

Guys don’t understand why girls need so many things in the shower, but we do. We need our body wash, our loofahj, shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, shaving cream, razor, face wash, Clarisonic, bubble bath, exfoliator, pumice stone…I mean the list goes on and on. Then if you are like me you have two different kinds of shampoo and conditioners…the really nice one that I use every other day and the cheap one that I use to make my hair look decent for the night knowing that in the morning I am going to wake up and wash my hair (like after the gym and we are going out on the town). If that is weird, keep it to yourself

With all this stuff in the shower it sure is hard to make it all fit and still give my hubby room for his 3 things. In the past I have bought the little suction cup baskets to help hold things, but without fail I wake up scared to death in a panic in the middle of the night because the whole thing came crashing down. I just haven’t found something that will hold all my stuff.

Butt Bench to the rescue!! “Butt Bench is a sturdy, high-quality patent-pending bathtub seat made of natural wood.” It is great! It fits in your tub and acts as a beautiful storage ledge.

Not only can it be used as a storage ledge but it will support your weight! This is great for me because I am 32 weeks pregnant. Let me just tell you (if you don’t know) how hard it is to shave in the shower. Bending over is super uncomfortable! The Butt Bench has made it much easier.

No, this isn’t me. Remember, I am 32 weeks pregnant.

You can even sit down, relax, and turn your shower into a sauna. Elderly folks would appreciate this as they can sometimes have a difficult time standing for a while or can easily become dizzy in a warm, steamy shower. I am not elderly, but I will sit on the bench when I bath my dog and soon when I am supervising a child in the tub. Beats sitting on the toilet or the floor or even kneeling…making your knees ache.

Again, neither of these pictures are me. ha ha

The Butt Bench is available in pine, cedar (this is the one I got), white, and pink. There isn’t any installation require. Simply place it in your tub and suction it to the wall. Now in the picture above you can see the suction cup on the wall. Here, I will zoom in for you…

Well my shower has a recessed wall and the suction cup won’t reach the wall. Here I will show you…

See how the edge sticks out further than the wall? The suction cup can’t reach.

Butt Bench has, however, installed a little track along the back to make the suction cup mobile…making it fit almost every tub!

So I just slide the suction cup down the track and rather than sticking to the main wall of the tub, it sticks to the edge. WALAH! Problem solved! In my master shower, however, we have a wider, jetted tub/ shower. Because of the knob on the tub (that lets the air in which produces the jets), the Butt Bench doesn’t sit flat. Also the space between the wall and the Butt Bench is deeper than a normal tub, making it so the bench can’t suction to the wall. Therefore, I would suggest this product to “normal” tub owners. Otherwise you may end up with a product that doesn’t work for you.

A Twist on a Classic! {Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe} + Giveaway!

Do you have a favorite family recipe that you love to make on a weekly or monthly basis?

How about a twist on a classic dish that is sure to please?

Here’s a great recipe for you to serve up to your family tonight for Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu!

A classic recipe made simple.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 1-1/4 lbs.)
1/3 cup Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
1/3 cup Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
4 thin slices cooked ham (about 2 oz.)
1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese (about 2 oz.)

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil, then spray with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.
Brush chicken with Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, then coat in bread crumbs. Arrange chicken on prepared baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes. Evenly top chicken with 4 slices ham, then cheese. Bake an additional 5 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.

Gettin’ Cheeky {Candi Cheeks review & giveaway}

One of the extra perks about having a baby is getting to play dress up! Now, I have a boy, so my options are a little limited. I haven’t experienced all the sparkles, flower bows, tutus, leggings, and dresses yet, but I still have fun dressing my little guy.
