Bathroom Redo….the Shower

The third and final chapter in the bathroom makeover book, is a new shower curtain.  I was stressing about how I would find a fun and plain shower curtain so I didn’t have busy walls and a busy shower curtain.  It is a delicate balancing act.  In most cases, the walls are a little more plain and the shower curtain is the focal point of the room.  Well, the first thing you see when you walk in my bathroom is by stenciled wall.  It’s bold and right in front of you.  I didn’t want the interest to end there, that’s where the vanity and mirror came in.  Two walls down, two to go.  I put a big rod iron flowery decoration thing on the small wall but need the perfect pop of color and fun for the shower curtain.  I hooked up with Jami Sticher from Stich By Stich Creations to create the perfect curtain for my bathroom.  I immediately fell in love with her ruffle shower curtain when I saw it.  It was my pop of color, simple, but perfect for my space.   I was torn between a few different colors.  My first choice was Hot Pink, but then Josh convinced me that that was too “girly” and this bathroom would be used by more than girls.  Next thought, Red.  Red, black and white always look amazing together.  But then I thought since I have red in my family room and barn red in my kitchen, I would choose something different.  Palm Tree Green it is.  Best choice I made!  It is the perfect shade of green.  Not too bright, not too light.

Shower Curtain

The curtain was handmade, so you will occasionally find a stray sting, but I am willing to snip a sting here and there to be this happy!  The ruffles are stitched to a waterproof shower curtain, but Jami recommends that you put another curtain behind it.  I was able to find a double hook that held both curtains on one rod ($12 at Walmart).  Each individual ruffle has a finished edge that falls into the perfect ruffle at the bottom.  I can’t even tell you how much I love this curtain!  Everyone that comes over, I (not so humbly) brag about my bathroom and my amazing shower curtain.  I love that it is different than everyone else.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the accent curtain and tie back that Jami pairs with this curtain.  I would love to add them in black with green tie backs.  The entire ensemble is a must have!!
