One of the first assignments my elementary teachers seemed to give at the start of school was to write a paragraph about “What we did over summer break”. Do any of y’all remember assignments like that? Often a variety of conversation pursued so it acted as an ice breaker to get to know fellow classmates. Visiting family, amusement parks, camping…..and my favorite; the beach, were all common answers. Now that I’m grown up, I still like to chat with others about my family vacations and to find out what others have done. Lots of times I’ll discover new locations to visit this way.
I mentioned above that one of my favorite vacation destinations is the beach. I’ve been East coast, West coast, Florida, Texas, Caribbean, Great Lakes, Hawaii………I love how each beach is so unique, particularly the sand. From white sand to black sand, powdered sugary soft to shell-y coarse, beaches have a signature. While on my last vacation I was thinking how it would be neat to collect sand from each of the beaches my family visits. But, then I started thinking what I would do with all that sand, using it in a creative and unique way. That’s when I found Dune Jewelry. Dune is a wonderful company that creates classy, stylish jewelry with sand you’ve collected from your favorite beach or offers a “Sand Bank” from around the world that special jewelry can be created from. How cool is this?!? Instead of those tacky souvenirs you usually find near the beach, you can own a truly beautiful keepsake.
Dune sent me their “Sandrop” Necklace. It is lovely. The 14mm x 10mm oval drop pendant is filled with sand from Manasota Key, Florida, a beach where my family spent hours collecting shark teeth that wash up on the beach. Literally, combined we collected 200 teeth! The sand isn’t super rough, but has many fragments of shells and teeth shards. It is such a great memory for me! The Sandrop is suspended on a silver chain and has a beautifully modern, yet classic feel. There is a glass-like finish and shine to the piece.
Dune Jewelry will get a conversation started. Someone is bound to ask….”what type of stone is that” or “what is that made of”…..your answer; “It’s sand from the best trip ever”! Did you get married on the beach? How about a Cocktail Ring or set of cuff links for your hubby, to remember the day. Or what about having stacker rings created with each of your children’s most loved beach trips. I’ve already purchased a Dune “Sandbead” for my Aunt to remember our adventure to Cayo Costa island. She adores the beach and I couldn’t think of a better way to tell her we really enjoyed being with her on that trip. Dune offers a wide variety of products including rings, necklaces, earrings, pendants, and key chains in their catalogue.
Before you leave your next beach excursion, collect some sand and send it to Dune. They’ll turn it into a lasting memory you can wear! REAL MOM RECOMMENDED!!
