What are your craziest parenting tactics and tricks? #CloroxLounge

If you are a mom (or dad) then you have done it!  You know that crazy tactic that you used that “one time” to get your kids to behave or eat their veggies.  We have all done it a time or two….sometimes we do it a few times a day in our house.  It’s the only way to get the kids to cooperate especially when mom needs a break or time to get things done.  We are going to share some of ours today with you!

 The veggie hiding:  My kids are not fans of their vegetables. In fact they have become very picky eaters lately.  There used to be a day when I could feed them a whole jar of yams or green beans and they would eat it all up, all while smiling and loving it with the Ummmms and Yummmms. Now that they are feeding themselves this has presented a problem when I plop a pile of broccoli or peas on their plate.  They just don’t want to touch it.  Here comes my confession.  I have to hide them in their food.  Yep, I am sure you are thinking been there done that.  It’s the only way to get them to eat them.

Crying child in store:  It’s 2:00 and we are running errands around town. The last stop, Target then it’s home for nap time.  I load the kiddos in the cart and away we shop.  Then the tantrums start, “I want this mom” and “I want that”. It doesn’t seem to stop.  I swing down the treat isle and grab a box of fruit snacks or crackers and proceed to open them up while still shopping (yes, I pay for them at checkout!) Next I proceed to shove them in their mouths to keep them from making a scene while dashing out of the store. Boy, I swear I will never take them out again….then next week we are back out shopping. LOL

Bribery: Yep, you read that right. BRIBING the kids.  I have to admit I do this a lot.  It seems to work though!  I tell them that if they are good while mom does this job around the house, they can have a treat or watch their favorite TV Show. Works like a charm.

Sometimes you have to admit it’s all you can do to keep your sanity…..come on mom’s fess up!  What are your craziest parenting tactics and tricks? We want to hear them.
