This is definitely one of the most unique pieces of jewelry I have seen.  When the bendy necklace arrived in my mailbox, my first thought was “what is this?!”……..it was a long tin foil looking continuous loop necklace, around 18″ in length.  Since I was expecting a twisted looking necklace, like the pictures shown on the Istatica website, I curiously pulled it from its package.  As I held onto the chain, which appears to be made of numerous specially shaped beads, it began to contort in my hands.   Surprised, I folded the necklace in half, then started gently twisting……….looking more like the picture…….voila, a choker sized coil necklace!  I have to admit, I got a little excited thinking about the possibilities of this necklace.  It was like playdoh to a child……….I shaped and unshaped the necklace into various creations for the next 10 minutes!  My daughter, a budding designer, was going to absolutely love this, I couldn’t wait to show her!

Miss Maddy thought this interactive necklace was “way cool”.  She became a jewelry designer as she created twists and rosettes.  Unfortunately after a couple of days, maybe 8 to 10 styles, our necklace broke, and I was unable to put it back together and still keep the special bend properties it originally had.  Fortunately, Istatica has a satisfaction guaranteed policy, so they kindly replaced the necklace and even upgraded it to the 6mm version instead of the 5mm.  Great customer service is hard to come by these days, so I definitely apprectiated this.  A caution:  the style shown on the website (the coiled choker), would not stay around my neck……with no clasp (and being bendy), it just stretched as I moved, and would fall off.  There is probably a hook or something at the hobby store that would work in connecting the two ends…..I’m going to investigate that.  Many other styles can be created from the long chain though, like a knot, or one wavy side/one straight.  Twisting two long chains of different colors would be lovely too.  Besides the bendy necklace, Istatica also offers a bendy ring, bracelet and earrings.
