Va-Va-Va Vaio {Sony Vaio Review}

The computer I have been using is one I got for Christmas…in 2001.  I know ten years doesn’t seem like that long ago, but think about how far electronics have come in the last 10 years…considering that digital cameras were almost non exitant 10 years ago.  My dino of a computer took about 15 mins to turn on and get logged in, another 5 mins to connect tot he Internet, and every time I went to another website I waited…and waited…and waited.  There were many sites that I couldn’t get into because my hardware was so old it didn’t allow me to download the necessary tools.

Problem solved!!  I was given the opportunity to review a Sony Vaio laptop.  This is the perfect little laptop.  I have never had a laptop before, and this is a fantastic place to start.  It has everything needed including a camera, microphone, blue-tooth, WiFi, and nearly 6 hour battery life.  I didn’t even mention that this thing is bitty, tiny.  It is a tiny bit bigger then a spiral notebook.  No joke!  It measures 11.42″ (W) x 0.99″ – 1.25″ (H) x 7.99″ (D).

I love being able to sit in my bed and check email, do my banking, and of course BLOG!  There was one day that I had to go to the doctor, have a test done and then wait for the results.  I knew ahead of time what was going to happen and I knew I would be waiting about an hour.  So, I threw my new PINK laptop in my little shoulder bag and hauled it in with me.  While I waited, I pulled it out and was able to connect to the Internet and worked on a few project that I need to finish.  It made a long boring hour turn into a productive one.  Once the doc returned, I closed the laptop and he immediately commented on what a nice laptop it was and what a great size it was!  Agreed!  This little guy only weighs 3.23 lbs!  Did you know that the average woman’s purse weighs 5.5 lbs?!  So take out a notebook and a lipstick or two and you will have plenty of room to tote this little piece of heaven in your purse or bag.

I am so excited to get to use this laptop over the next year.  I look forward to designing my family Christmas cards, putting together a calendar for Grandma and Grandpa, and designing a scrapbook or two online.  I have always wanted to learn a little photo editing, and this is the perfect time to do that.  There is no time better then the present to improve!  I figure everything else has improved…Microsoft Word is now so much easier to use.  I may just be living in the stone-age, but it is incredible!  I am sure it is like anything else, you don’t realize how crappy something is until you have something better.  Everyone has upgraded a phone a time or two.  Remember going from your old flip phone to a smart phone?!  That is what I feel like I have done.  My old “flip phone” if you will, was getting the job done (slowly) but the “smart phone” (or cute pink Sony Vaio laptop) is so much more fun and time effective to use.

Sorry my sweet husband, there is a new love in my life!
