It’s Okay to be Different and Silly! {My Purple Toes Book Review}
Thanks to the Family Review Network, I got to review the book My Purple Toes by Blair Hahn. This book was written by a dad whose daughter asked him to go to the salon with her….to get pedicures! He obliged and came home with purple toes! This book is based on the reactions from passerby’s and family members when they spotted his unusually colorful toes.
My girls and I have had a lot of fun reading this book! They love finding the Dad’s purple toes and counting them, and they also enjoy finding the purple-toed frog who peeks around corners on each page. Lots of giggles and clapping and read-it-again-Mama…I don’t mind because this book is such a delight to read. I also love the illustrations, which are so lighthearted and make me smile
every time.
But it’s not all silliness…between the giggles, you’ll be teaching your child about acceptance of others, that being different is okay, and just to have fun in your life. Those Purple Toes…they’re powerful!
What makes it even better is that with every purchase of My Purple Toes, a significant portion of its proceeds are donated to benefit children in the United States and around the world through nonprofit, Soles4Souls, which collects and distributes shoes at no cost to people in need.
My Purple Toes is geared towards kids under 8 years old and can be purchased online for $10.99. Be sure to check out the My Purple Toes Facebook and Twitter pages, and sign up for their newsletter. And look for their second book, My Purple Kisses in time for Valentine’s Day 2011.
